I didn’t realize they had gone so in depth with abilities. Surprised everyone else hasn’t covered this

27 years.....we made it boys.

I remember this game on the n64, i had the same fear of crashing, every move was crucial.

So I was basically enraptured the entire video, your editing is immaculate, you've clearly done an excellent job characterizing the experience of Galactic Racer and I would have doubtless watched the entire video in one sitting had I not needed to break for food. Before coming back, I wanted to check out how much the game costed (59 bucks) and learned that it's not out on steam - it's not out anywhere on any platform. I was wondering if you had been sponsored then, but it felt very strange to me when I couldn't find mention of anything like that in the description or your introduction.

Throughout the whole introduction of the video it felt like you had discovered the game on your own, literally stating how you "only became interested once you learned it was rogue-lite" (1:10). 17:30 was the first time that it was mentioned that this build was a pre-release build and 18:17 was tucked in at the end of the video, it felt very weird to watch nearly the entire video before realizing that it was an ad - honest review non-withstanding.

I'm sure people will read my comment and ignore it because I'm "making waves for nothing," but consumer protections are there for a reason. It's important to know what truly is an honest review or an ad because *ads work*, I was clearly impressed with the quality of your video and your commitment to the craft, but it also made me very interested in a game that I had literally never heard of before/had no intention of getting. Part of the reason people are required to disclose sponsorships is that it creates an undue amount of influence the sponsor has over the sponsored, and when the consumer (us) doesn't have that background knowledge, we don't know how to temper that rampant positivity with a proper level of critical thinking. (Like how book reviewers disclose honest reviews by stating they're ARCs).

Look ImTheChef if you're reading this, it was a great video, perhaps its flow would have been ruined if you dropped in a statement about how you were granted and early access build in order to review the game before release, I will gladly give you that benefit of the doubt.

However, nowhere else does your video indicate that the review was achieved with an early copy of the game, especially not in the description - which is the first place I checked when I noticed that the game hasn't even come out yet. What was more eerie was the separate unmentioned sponsor from GamerSupps, which indicates that you do know to disclose those. It is great to see smaller creators achieve milestones when it comes to recognition from larger companies - especially industries that the content creators enjoy, but when disclosures are saved for the very end and absent entirely from the description, statements like "[early copy]...before launch. This is my first opportunity like this and honestly I feel incredibly honored..."(18:20) start to feel less like a symbol of an honest creator having produced a review from their heart, and more like a reviewer overeager to impress the company that gave them their first big break.

Everything I've seen everywhere else on this game hasn't made me even consider it.
Until you came along.
Good work XD Single handedly made me wanna buy this now.

i really felt like this game was going to be good when i first saw it but this is the first review that made me actually hyped for it, very good content

The way you explain this game has me even more excited than I already was! I pre ordered yesterday and cannot wait for release!

okay, thank you for this - i’m actually excited now because* i thought it was just going to be generic racing game. which was fine, but it was going to be a ‘buy during steam sale’ for me. but now this will be a day one for me.

The game's looking waaaay faster than it did in press previews which is great. Like, despite how far Disney apparently let the studio go, I halfway wonder if they cranked it at the last second to dodge difficulty complaints in focus group tests or something.

Everyone brings up the Burnout influence, but it also feels like those old Criterion devs thought "hey we could make Wipeout since no one's doing that", too, with the skim speeders.

A really measured, enticing and well communicated review, *chef's kiss*.

I was already hyped before hearing about this rogue mode lol
THIS LOOKS AMAZING

BEST Galactic Racer video i've seen so far. Love your video style!

The 'millions' estimate is about the parts, favors 3 vehicle types, and driving styles. He says 'thats not including the visual customization' just to clarify

Dude, the classic "games journalism" sites and everything related to them are pure garbage. Every interaction with them is a point against gaming and gamers. Independent reviewers like you and others are the best way to learn about games in these modern times. I got more information from your video than almost every other video I've seen about the game combined. Great video, keep up the good work!

Great video like always the chef 👨‍🍳 cooked it up! I’m gonna get this game for sure 😊

My excitement for this game is off the charts.  Burnout is my all-time favorite racing game and mixing that with Racers is phenomenal!

Been fiending a Burnout game for years. Went through a ton of racing games trying to have that feel. Didn’t know it was gonna be a Star Wars game, but I’ve been keeping a close eye on it since it was revealed. So glad it seems to be almost exactly what I want from two things I love

Galaxy Racer is made by Fuse Games, a new studio mostly made up of former Criterion developers. A lot of them are veterans who worked on Burnout Paradise back in the day. The reason the game turned out so well is simply because they have developers who really know the genre.

Looks so sick!

I wasn't excited about this game in the least until now. I had a passing interest in it, because I grew up playing Pod Racer back in the day. Hell, even cutting grass nowadays on my zero-turn mower I sometimes pretend the levers are like I'm pod racing. (If you played the Arcade version of Pod Racer, you know what I mean). Hearing it's done by some of the old burnout crew, and even really looking like burnout has really ignited my interest in this game. Thanks for the review.
