Slime Rancher 2 — the first-person farming sim where you play as Beatrix LeBeau, a rancher stranded on Rainbow Island vacuuming up adorable slimes and selling what comes out the other end. Don't let the cozy look fool you: this is a real resource management game with feeding schedules, corral upgrades, and a very fast way to lose everything.

The hook is the Vacpack — you suck up slimes, food, water, and plorts, then fire them back out wherever you need them. Every slime eats something different and drops a different plort, and the real money is in Largos: feed one slime another slime's plort and you get a hybrid that drops both. Stack the wrong combo though and you get Tarr, a black goo slime that eats every other slime on your ranch and spreads until there's nothing left. One bad feeding run and your whole operation is gone.

If you're a fan of Slime Rancher, Stardew Valley, Animal Crossing, My Time at Portia, Ooblets, Dinkum, or Grounded, Slime Rancher 2 is absolutely worth your time. Monomi Park built one of the most relaxing but genuinely addicting indie games out there and it deserves way more attention.
