One thing people forget is Sega make these arcades from the ground up. The actual game, the cab, the music and gameplay is one big venture. The rolling start, the instant action, the music and short experience is all designed like an amusement park. 30 years ago these machine were “attractions” and not “video games”. Going to the arcade was a day out, much like going to the fair. So when Sega made arcade games, they were designed to turn a profit. When you break down games like Daytona, its a bare bones game but it has enough pizazz to make you slide a dollar (or pound coin) and play. Sega brought you experiences, not gaming.
You are one of the lucky few to have this original cabinet, Gallop steering wheel and 4-speed gearbox, seats, all original from 1994. This is priceless, keep it and preserve it safely. Congratulations🏆. I came 4th in the South American championship in 1997, I started playing the arcade port on the PS3 in 2011 and it's still the case today. Simply the most profitable arcade game in history!
