After being inspired by you and others I came to NZ, I spent a week in the urewera living off the land, I caught possums, trout and an eel, and ate a variety of plants and mushrooms. It was incredible. Thankyou so much for the wonderful videos you do, they are full of great info. I'm currently in Marlborough Sounds, full of fish n game here too.

Little trick for the eels. Take a rotten egg with you and smash it on the bank so it runs into the water. They come from everywhere then. For Koura take a roast chicken carcass and a chip basket it, lower it in and they climb into the basket.

No doubt about you-i had a workmate 40 odd years ago who put a hedgehog in ashes and then ate it and claimed it was like chicken???? for a jug of beer the same fella put a spoonfull of live maggots and associated grey muck in his mouth- couldnt swallow it tho and fed the local worms--- lol
