One thing that wasn't mentioned was cleaning all your internal parts especially the pistons, cylinders, rings. I use hot water and ajax to clean the inside of the cylinders, dry them and oil them with a thin film prior to assembly. Same with the pistons especially in the ring gaps. You can't trust that the factory did anything more than wipe them down with a dirty rag.
The case also gets a thorough pressure washing.

Was wondering if you checked the oil hole alignment in the main bearings? Heard this can be a problem with the aluminum cases.

I didn’t notice the lifters up close but are they hydraulic lifters?

@3:50 you comment about pre-assembly. I was wondering about bearing clearances. Was this measured off camera to verify all bearing clearances, or was this within tolerance out of the box?
