Welcome back to the channel.

In today’s video, we are crafting a traditional Japanese teapot using a personal favourite method of mine: the 'ONE PIECE' technique.

A Japanese teapot (Kyusu) carries a unique elegance, often smaller than its English counterpart, with the handle traditionally positioned on the side or top. In this project, I will guide you through a few clever modifications that simplify the making process without compromising its classic beauty.

The true magic of the 'ONE PIECE' technique lies at the wheel, where both the lid and the body are thrown together as a single, continuous piece. This ensures a flawless, seamless fit after firing. From narrowing the shoulder and creating an internal gallery, to hand-crafting the spout, a finger-friendly handle, and an built-in clay strainer, I will walk you through every step of this rewarding process.

Grab a cup of tea, sit back, and I hope you find this throwing and trimming journey both relaxing and inspiring.

Happy creating!
