Eight years after Andrea Jürgens' death, her ex-husband finally admitted what we suspected.
In 1977, Jürgens, discovered by Jack White, made her first television appearance at the age of ten on the ARD New Year's Eve gala show "Am laufend Band" with Rudi Carrell. That evening, she performed the song "Und dabei liebe ich euch beide" (And While I Love You Both), composed by White and written by Jon Athan, in which she sang about the situation after a divorce from a child's perspective. She subsequently appeared on other television shows, and her song was picked up by several radio stations. The single entered the German singles charts in January 1978, reaching number four. In March of that year, she performed on the ZDF hit parade hosted by Dieter Thomas Heck, where she reached number one.
