I’m a fan of electric cars and have had one for 6 years now (alongside a Mustang V8 so I’m still a petrolhead). If you can charge them at home they make a lot of sense and I’ve never struggled to get anywhere in the country in ours. Bikes however have a fundamental packaging issue. You can actually get a reasonable range now, but the charging hardware to get good charging speeds like you have in cars is just too big and heavy. For example, if a 15KWH bike could charge at car speeds you’d get 150 miles and recharge in 5 mins at a DC charger. Unfortunately though the charge speeds of even the best EV bikes are more like 20KWH meaning closer to an hour. If they can solve that cooling problem they would be a lot more viable

Inflation is terrible in this country. At the start of this film the bike was 8.6k and by the end it was 9.5k. Shocking!

I rode it for a month here in India
And got near 250-260 km range on it
Loved riding it, it's a unique experience

I think you've made the classic kmh/mph mistake! It's 2.8s to 60 km/h and 7.7s to 100 km/h (62 mph).

Everyone knows that electric bikes are just for city commutes…except someone forgot to tell the YouTuber “Marc Travels”, he thought he could go from England to Malaysia on an electric bikes!! Impossible of course, except he did it.

Freddie reporting from India!: this company has an optional accessory dc charger 🔌 which does 80% charge in 30 minutes on public chargers. They have another version of the model you’ve ridden with upright stance which is slightly more affordable.
They also have an adv spec bike called the x47 which just launched which is significantly more affordable than this where that big cumbersome charger you were lugging is built into the bike with built in fast charging.

Don’t agree on the styling. It’s a great looking bike. When it was introduced it looked like the future had arrived. To me it still does. Other bikes are moving towards the same design language but most look like awed up knickknack. This one looks integrated.

I have been riding for a long time. Currently I have 2 Ducati’s and 2 Triumphs in my garage . 2 years ago I added the Swedish electric RGNT bike to my collection. I like it’s retro looks and so it seems do people passing by when I stop. The bike is light, 175 kg and very nimble. Unlike the bike you test here this one has a hub motor and is silent. There is no annoying whine. This is important since the only thing you hear when you ride is the wind. This last summer with several days of temperatures in the high 20’s this was my go to bike. There is no heat generated. I highly recommend an electric bike as a second bike. Silently zooming through space is a great feeling!

That was either well over 3 seconds or my stop watch needs recalibrating. Maybe 0 to 60 kph in 3 seconds but not 60 mph.

11:45...they have launched there new bike with on board charger...you have to just carry the cable.

I'm a nurse. In the mid naughties I commuted from Bridport in West Dorset to Poole Hospital in East Dorset (avoiding parking charges). This was all countryside, pretty much. It included quite a few miles of dual carriageway too. 41 miles each way. It would work! I couldn't get a deer on the back, as I did on my R850R. I currently ride a XT600E in Argyll so the distances are massive & I like old tech. My daughter ride a 50cc now, but on to a 125cc in the summer. She wouldn't need an A2 licence, in a way, apart from those range issues. I can see it would work in anywhere I've lived in England (Suffolk, Sussex, West London, Dorset), apart from longer hauls to visit my family & friends in Suffolk. I have driven various electric pool cars for NHS Highland. I love the excelleration, lack of engine noise wouldn't worry me. There you go, my thoughts, for what they are worth.

Being an Indian 🇮🇳 and a rider for over 2 decades now I have been following Ultraviolette as a brand grow over the years. It’s a no nonsense speed machine with serious range which can be charged with a normal plug at home and can be charged at commercial charging stations. I was going through some of the comments, some of them utter nonsense. It’s been properly timed over and over again, for years now before even any keyboard warriors came to know about it! We ride more and write less to prove a point. In India 🇮🇳 it has been ridden throughout the country and it can be easily charged on commercial chargers, so it’s not a strictly city bike at all! But then again it’s like any EV, takes time to charge. My suggestion would be to ride one to get a hang of it, or at least see more videos of Ultraviolette in YouTube itself before just casually commenting on it. Jai Hind 🇮🇳🇮🇳🇮🇳

£8600 and that's on an introductory offer with a range of 80 miles, which in practice means you can go out for 40 miles and then turn round so you can get home. Hardly worth the effort especially as I don't live or work in a city.
