I almost agree with every statement. Just some opinions: Jinhao isn’t bad, but among Chinese brands, Hongdian is much better. I have all the brands you mentioned and more, and Hongdian has some of the best nibs I’ve used. I think Sailor is becoming overrated, precisely because they are reducing the quality of their nibs while spiking their prices. Your analysis of Parker is spot on. This brand is the most numerous in my collection, but I only have four made in the last 15 years. It’s a shadow of their former self. And Montblanc… the three Japanese brands eat them up in quality, and there are many others that make as good pens as them. Now it isn’t only the outrageous prices, but also their quality control that fails.

I have a Mont Blanc and a couple of vintage Parker 51 that I inherited from my dad. I love them all  but the TWSBI Eco is my EDC and I have several.

I start with Montblanc 149 😅. Then Twsbi...then Platinum Preppy. I can honestly say that I love my Twsbi Go the most.

TWSBI hasn't changed; their pens continue to crack.

I agree with the ranking and the reasoning, but thete is one statement that is incorrect. No one uses a fountain pen for drafting. If course, no really drafts with a pen anymore. They use an CAD (computer assisted design) programs. However, back before before CAD took over, you drafted with a mechanical  pencil or a very fine ballpoint pen, like a Rotring. A use that does use a lot of ink is drawing. Some artists still use a fountain pen for sketches.

Generally agree but your graphics are off; when discussing Lamy, specifically the 2000, it's not a picture of a 2000 you're showing!

I was a pelikan guy, in last 5 months i was using "sailor progear regul"everyday.
To all FP fanboys, dont judge this pen by single trial. I was hesitant to buy sailor due to the scratchu feeling at showroom. But i made up my mind by seeing the gold price hike and went to purchase sailor anticipating its price will balloon due to gold price. And after that i barely go for other pens.

The visuals don't match the dialogue....

Sailor pro gear

These videos can be extremely irritating because they talk about a model of a pen and show a completely different model as they describe it. Often the illustrating picture is from a completely different company.

AI videos with made up back stories are beyond crappy.

This is bullshit.  There's noth8ing worse than people who try to make money by talking about something they know nothing at all about.  All of this is complete nonsense.

Yes, I agree, the Montblanc 149 is an excellent fountain pen.. But too overpriced.
