Welcome to Author Theory. This video discusses a potential (man) new role for the Knight Gang, that of Authors. This ended up as a bit of a wild all expanding theory but it's a new way of thinking about the game for sure and I'm interested in what people have to say about it.

Who wrote Deltarune? The Forgotten Man originally.

Nowadays, Gaster re-wrote it in his own way.

And the Knight, Carol, and Kris are trying to re-write it once again.

Gaster when entry 17 happens:

MANs WRITING IS VERY, VERY DOGSH*T⁉️”

A gurgle smirk is when someone is making a choking sound in their throat while simultaneously giving a smug smile. Basically a smirk with a suppressed snorty laugh. Insane antagonists usually do this

@feral_catboy 8 days ago

not even a minute in and i am already enamored by the mention of gurglesmirks

Toby Fox, yeah in universe it was Toby Fox . Just like the player in universe is us. Though with both us and Toby there is a false creator and a false player. Gaster is the probable false creator and the false player is probably Dess

@ssg-eggunner 7 days ago

the fact that gaster at pre release was the one to talk of the prophecy is sure very suspicious

@tim14022000 7 days ago

interesting, plausible theory AND it's not a dess knight theory? this certainly deserves a like

28:45 yeah there a giantic problem with the whole “kris made chapter 2’s fountain argument

Queen herself literally said that the knight made their fountain

And in chapter 5 if you read asgore’s research notes Ralsei states that asgore got a black shard (an object that comes from the knight) from the computer lab

"It's not Toby fox or Paul McCartney"

A darkner is an object with no will to live, with no DETERMINATION. In chapter 2 spamton what's to be " [a Real boy]" by taking the soul from kris so when a darkner gains a soul they're no longer just an illusion they're real, so my theory is the knight was originally a darkner maybe a dess dustner and kris sacrificed they're soul to give her the ability to go back to the light world, that also explains why the knight laughs at susie when she says "you can't beat us in the light world, can you?" because they actually can because the knight's form is the same in the light world

I think:
1) Prophecy's happening is inevitable, but "when" it happens is flexible (allowing the Knight gang to hijack it)
2) Once the prophecy have started, it's of course goes through path of least resistance, so if the Knight gang can arrange it, it will take advantage of that. But if Knight gang can't arrange it, Prophecy is not going to stop in it's tracks. It's already going full throttle, so if there's no arranged way, it will MAKE a way (jockington, "the girl" romance, etc). Ralsei confirms it (even if it's smashed, it's going to appear somewhere else). This tells us that the Knight gang play with dangerous forces and it can absolutely brow up in their faces.

Very nice use of Tlalocan with the editing at 7:27. Wasn't expecting that in a deltarune vid

“Here’s another clue for you all 🎶the Roaring Knight is Paul”🎶💃

I hope you’ve seen that video, but if you haven’t, forgive me.

there’s a massive 4 part theory i read that imagines the knight as a collection of memories of actions attempting to repeat the steps of its creation. if the knight told them “do this and dess comes back,” they’re probably no going to care if it also progresses the knight’s evil plan; they got dess back. basically the knight has complete knowledge of all the ways the prophecy can be completed and has told the knight squad that doing x y z leads to dess coming home

I think Noelle was the one to open the Ch2 fountain, but Kris would be my second guess. Noelle wanted to go someplace different, so her will made a dizzying place that her sister promised her. She wants to feel less helpless, so the world is filled with stuff that scares her (Mice are everywhere, the main antagonist is a reflection of her overbearing mother, a minor appearance of Ice-E). The former two are things that she ultimately has to face directly and be brave in the face of. The characters we know Kris and a girl created in childhood are also present in the Ch2 Fountain (and Knight Fountains), Queen specifically in this case. Given the age range, I don’t think the person who played pretend with Kris could’ve been anyone other than Noelle, which is why I think it has to be one of the two. The thing that tips the scales toward Noelle for me is Spamton’s whole deal. Firstly, Pipis appears in Noelle’s past, as mentioned in a blog post, where I don’t believe it’s ever stated that she told anyone about it. More importantly is that Spamton’s story mirrors Noelle’s. Someone who feels trapped in their life with seemingly no way out, and turns to a fantastical dream of growing wings and flying above it all for comfort? That’s
Noelle for sure. It just seems too tailored to Noelle specifically for this to not be a story written by her will personally.
