Thank you Colin and Woody for bringing this piece of history to a wider audience, one wonders how many 'smaller' actions wait to have their story told and the soldiers who lost their lives to be remembered and honoured.

Yet another great show but above all many thanks to Colin, his colleagues, all the sponsors for the memorial. I love it and I think it is on the right spot, together with the view, the orientation table is an excellent idea😍 . Interesting but also unsual (?) arrangement of the graves at Hotot cemetery, I will have to paid these brave men a visit at some point.

Interesting and amusing quote from Whitelaw (Deputy PM under Thatcher) following Runcie being appointed to lead the Church of England in the role of Archbishop of Canterbury, during 1980 - "Splendid news... Fine man, Runcie. I knew him in the Army; very brave, very brave. Quite religious too, you know"

Wonderful deed dive show with some nice pictures of Churchill tanks and maps. What a beautiful tank the Churchill was. Slow but strong and a good climber. Nice tribute to these men!

What a fantastic show! Thank you Woody and Colin. Found the memorial by accident a couple of years ago. Won't forget because I lost a tooth chewing a sweet. The jagdpanther at the station was taken there by the royal engineers. There were 2 found within 500m of St pierre. Will visit hotpot next time I'm over.

Excellent work. Bluecoat: "When they didn't think about it too hard..." the Brits kicked a**e. Always the way. I followed 3 SG through Veritable when they'd turned back to "armoured" and Runcie captured a bunch of baddies.

20:44 This is the point that is definitely overlooked, the fact is those Panzer divisions around Caen were written down. Panzer Lehr (which is the unit the US broke through) had been so badly damaged it was moved to a quiet sector to recover and the 9th SS Panzer division lost half its strength, approximately 9,000 men and the 10th SS by the end of the operation had been reduced from approximately 15,000 men to just 2,289 and a handful of infantry battalions, with not a single tank remaining. In Operation Epsom alone the Germans also lost 25 Tigers.

Fantastic presentation! Love the attention being paid to part of Operation Bluecoat and the fantastic museum at Saint-Martin-des-Besaces. If you're in Normandy, make sure to go to the museum and to the Bluecoat area!

Excellent presentation, really interesting hearing about Whitelaw and Runcie who both went onto to serve in public life. Members of the greatest generation.
