Being a metalhead in the 80’s was an act of defiance. People looked down on you and were suspicious of your every move. Cops harassed all my long hair friends just for their appearance. PMRC. So, yeah, was metal wild in the 80’s?! You bet. We were all accused of worshipping the devil. Parents threw out records, posters, metal gear of all kinds. I nearly got kicked out of my family for going to see Queensryche! Nothing stopped us though. All it did was make us more metal. More leather. More guitars. More hair. More tattoos. You Can’t Kill Rock N Roll. We will never stop. I’m an old metalhead now, but seeing the young ones rocking to new and old bands warms my heart like you would not believe. Keep it going, kids. Tear it up.

Plot Twist: Bob Larson is secretly a massive metalhead.

the way Bob can barely let anyone finish their sentences is driving me INSANE

I'm 57 years old, and I  saw lots of these bands in little clubs.

I've been a metalhead for most of my life now, finding rock and metal is the best thing that ever happened to me, i can't imagine a world without it 🤘❤🎶

Laaz Rockit is so underated Thrash Metal🤘

As someone around at that time black metal was Venom, Slayer was thrash.  Bob is one of the most egotistical God botherers I've ever seen.

"This 24 year old is beating me in an argument...Nikolai, say how Chistian you are."

Heavy metal calms me ❤

I was a teen in the 80's and I remember this bullsh*t.... this guy and Geraldo.  I listened to a lot harder and darker bands than Slayer.... Kind Diamond, Celtic Frost, Helloween, Venom.  Metal in the 80's was a trip and a LOT of fun. I wouldn't change it for the World.  My mom watched the Geraldo tv "Special"  (watch that one if you haven't already) she came storming into my room looking at all my posters and albums... I was like "Get out... I don't worship the Devil Mom,,, FFS"

Jeff is my hero.

The 80s and 90s in the US were crazy. The vice president's wife, Tipper Gore, led a crusade to censor rock and rap music for years. Twisted Sister actually testified before Congress and did an amazing job. You should check it out.

There's also a phone call with Trey from Morbid Angel, where Bob tries a sort of telephonic exorcism, and Trey answers back in demonic possession mode. Bob is a White Metal champion!

17:51 “Do you love wat he’s doing” … “NO”  LOL!!! OMG l lost it!! 😂😂😂

Yet another METAL HEAD here, since 1982. Good times, regardless of all the "Satanic Panic" and other bullshit we dealt with then. Over 40 years, and I'm still entrenched and enthralled by the genre.  Cheers, everyone!

Metal for me was the people that accepted me as a weird drummer. Me being at a maiden, priest, slayer show, sod, those people had my back.

Fun Fact:

Bob’s three daughters are exorcists too. 🤣

My uncle was a Catholic Priest and never once said anything bad about Metal to me in the 80s. Lars Rocket were an awesome band..

Laaz Rockit is f*g cool!

Don't laugh! My mother threw away my Iron Maiden LPs in the 80s, because it was satanic music. And pretended not to know where they are, also gave me a book about all that to read, next to books about being possessed 😭! When I moved out my little brother gave me one which he had saved over all the years.I had very sad teenageyears, but soon she couldn't prevent me to buy my first Morbid Angel and also go to concerts😂.

I remember seeing this and the Geraldo thing when I was a kid. Even my Christian Mom laughed at it. Metal talks about history, culture, and Satan as just an F you to the people like Bob Larson. ROFL!  Thanks for the laugh, Boris! 🤣
