Try draining the cherries in a colander. It's faster than pulling them out of the jar with a fork, and if you need the juice for something later, you can collect it in a bowl under the colander for return to the jar. Also, if you have a mini-muffin tin, you can put your wrappers in the cups, then put the chocolate covered cherries in them, and the tin holds them steady so they don't fall over. :)

I like Catherine because she is genuine . She is easy to watch and to follow when she does the recipes.

Nice to see a husband working with his wife to do the work and be in front of the camera. Stirring is hard work. I not only learned but also enjoyed your husband's input! It's much easier when you have help.

Catherine, your Son, Daughter, and Husband are so lucky, that you cook for them, I hope they show appreciation in helping clean up!

Use a toothpick in each piece to dip your pieces. Leave the toothpicks, then people can use them to eat each piece.

My dad loved peanut brittle. He would make it; I never learned how to make it since I don't care for it. I do know he used raw peanuts, whether he roasted them before making the brittle I don't know. I like the idea of using jarred peanuts.

My pappy used to make candy called bird's nest @ Christmas, when he passed I started making it. It's chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and creamy peanut butter melted together then you mix in crunchy Chinese noodles in and scoop teaspoon out on tray to cool and set.

Just a tip: I use a half a stick of Gulf paraffin wax and melt with the chocolate. The candy shines like new money.

Here is a tip. If you will just butter your sheet pan 1st then right before you pour your candy, move the sheet pan on the stovetop element on low then pour your peanut brittle on the sheet pan. The low temperature will keep the brittle hot enough for the candy to spread. Try it, it works.

Catherine, for the cherries without stems I use Xmas colored tooth picks. Sometimes I remove all the stems and just use the tooth picks for all of them. It just makes them look a little more festive! If you can't find the holiday ones you can dye them with food coloring! You can make them any color to suit the holiday! You can top the brittle with chocolate chips. Just put the chips on top of the brittle while it still hot. Scatter and spread!

I love joining you in your kitchen. You are so pleasant to watch and listen to. Reminds me of my sister that I lost a few years ago at the early age of 59. She was a great cook, and made Christmas goodies for all the family to share one year. Thank you for bringing that warm, homey, family feeling to your viewers. Merry Christmas to you and yours.

With my fudge, I like using the marshmellow fluff. I also line my baking dish with non stick foil

The bugles look like elf’s hats!!!

My mom's same recipe however she said to never overwork once poured. She liked the fluffier brittle, a little thicker, less hard to chew.

I make the brittle with raw peanuts or pecans. Never used a thermometer, just went by the color as it cooked in the cast iron skillet, and spread it really thin. I live in the south in peanut country. I love brittle!! Didn't know you could use roasted peanuts from a jar! Good idea!
