The mention of Hawk Tuah dates this video by like 3 years

"Dream Drop Distance Platinum" is a phrase that activates me like a sleeper agent, because I immediately had a flashback to those 70+ damn Secret Portals.

The last game Hayden Panettiere voiced a character in Kingdom Hearts (Xion), may she Rest in Peace 🙏

It’s so weird hearing Sora’s battle quotes in DDD after having playing Smash for so long and hearing them there.

…Still can’t believe that actually happened even after five years

still insane that this is the only KH game where crit changes enemy AI

Stickman Sham is guilty of many murders between the span of 2016 and 2023. Do not trust him.

What I learned from this video is that Osaka team is a brave ass studio, to look at the barely functional BBS combat system and command deck, and then doubling down and making it worse in DDD

I remember going beyond the platform based achievements/trophies and getting ALL the in-game trophy awards too, most of which don't have an associated Xbox achievement or PS trophy.

Turned the game into a week long grind post-game because one of them is for MAXING OUT EVERY SINGLE DREAM EATER'S AFFINITY LEVEL, fucking ludicrous inclusion, ended up Mega Flare grinding like in BBS in one of the big open rooms in The Grid.

Special.

Portals.

If you know, you know.

i would love to watch this but the dream eater theme would cause me to crash into the nearest vehicle in my vicinity

DDD Platinum is the type of punishment Satan saves for the most evil souls in hell

Fun fact, there is at least one special portal in the plaza you fight Julius in so if you don’t get that specific one done before postgame you can’t get end of pain before ultima. Found that out the hard way while trying to save him for nearly last outside of the dream eater grinding.

They say every time a bell rings a stickman gets his cheeves

This and Chain of Memories were torture chambers when it comes to all achievements. Having to make every single dream eater, max leveling up Sora AND Riku, so many missions to complete and a convoluted way to access them, all those reasons and more are why I wanted to be done with this one the most.

Semi-related:
There's a mod that allows KH2 Sora to be playable over, well, Sora; And Aqua over Riku. Food for thought for anyone who hadn't saw that.

I remember when I first played dream drop distance I was smiling from ear to ear when I heard “night of fate playing”in the beginning

True gamers also get all the in-game trophies.

I still have flashbacks of all the minigames I had to do in order to max the affinity on EVERY dream eater in the game. Good times. This one's in-game trophies are definitely worse than the BBS ones in the Trinity Archives.

I feel that DDD got skipped a lot because of bad luck. It first gets released on 3DS, which wasn't very successful. Then it gets put on a Collection with just a movie and a tech demo for $60; twenty dollars more than the 1.5+2.5 which was 4 games and 2 movies. A shame because I thought it was pretty fun, and I love playing as Riku whenever possible.

I misread the word flick here at 1:41:21 and can’t help but laugh 😂
