I remember buying ground beef for 98¢/lb. In 1973 we lived close to 4 different Jewish butchers as well as Jewish Deli's. We would buy skirt steaks from them for 99¢/lb. while Ground beef was either $1.19 or $1.29. Trick was to grill them hot and quickly. They came out medium rare and seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic powder were absolutely delicious. Not sure when it happened but too many people stated buying it and it's one of the most expensive cuts now days.

Thank you for sharing. I grew up on a farm where we had cows and hogs. I was often grinding up sausage or hamburger. I have an old grinder in there and not sure where all the parts are but will order a new one after watching your video. I also miss the way the meat used to taste and never found a sausage seasoned better than mamma could do. Fried fresh sausage with tomato gravy and home made biscuits got you out of the bed early to start your chores. Those were the times.

I realize this is an AI production, but the essential facts are still worth hearing. Most of us, myself included, are too lazy to do this everytime we want a hamburger. I guess the solution is to make a lot at once and freeze as much as you can.
