Listed as a historical monument, this Vendée-style building was erected in the 17th century near the Mervent forest. The château comprises two lateral wings and a main building including a principal pavilion constructed of dressed stone and two turrets of dressed stone and rubble masonry, adorned with cannon-shaped gargoyles. Rectangular moats surround the château.

The state of disrepair of the cornices, walls, and stair turret of the main wing necessitated restoration work to ensure the building's preservation.

This work was carried out by the masons and stonecutters of the Benaiteau company.
