Extreme Restoration: Rusted Remington Typewriter Abandoned in the Rain

In this video, I take on the challenge of restoring a classic Remington typewriter that was left outdoors, exposed to sun and rain. The oxidation was critical, but I decided to rescue this historical piece and bring it back to its former glory.

Watch the step-by-step transformation of this mechanical writing icon. Beyond being an incredible decor piece for any setting, it still offers the nostalgic joy of typing a letter while enjoying a fresh cappuccino.

What you’ll see in this video:

Deep rust removal and cleaning.
Disassembly and mechanical component recovery.
Painting and polishing for a flawless finish.
I hope you enjoy this RESTORATION! If you love seeing old objects being brought back to life, please leave a "Like" and subscribe to the channel to follow our upcoming projects.

It always amazes me how these restoration people remember how things are supposed to go back together.

If you get the chance, you should buy a sand blaster machine it will save you so much time on cleaning all those parts of the type writer or any restoration job.

Wow I bet this took ages, I've never seen anyone restore something as intricate as a type writer! Turned out lovely too!

I have been repairing and refurbishing typewriters since the mid 1960's and you did a great job. To get the platen, rubber rollers and the top paper rollers to a near new look, use Acetone on a rag or denatured alcohol. On the rubber only, if you use it on any plastic part, it will eat up and distort the plastic, Keep up the great work !

Imagine an Accounting office of a big firm in a major city that had hundreds of these typewriters in use 8 hours a day, week after week, month after month, year after year.

I would have thrown the machine away, because I figured there is no way to fix that. What an amazing rebuild an impossible job. But you did it. Wonderful. :face-red-heart-shape::thanksdoc:
