Replay the Friday Grade 1 competition at the World Pipe Band Championships 2026 from Glasgow Green: every March, Strathspey and Reel (MSR) and Medley performance, plus original features celebrating The Worlds, Piping Live!, Glasgow and the international piping community.

Thirteen of the world’s leading pipe bands competed in the Friday round at The Worlds. The programme combines complete Arena 1 performances with expert context, interviews, stories from visiting bands and an introduction to the people and places that make Glasgow the global home of piping each August.

Simon Fraser University went on to be crowned 2026 World Pipe Band Champions, the Canadian band’s first world title since 2009.

🌍 ABOUT THE WORLDS

The World Pipe Band Championships are the pinnacle of global pipe band competition. In 2026, 211 bands representing 14 countries brought thousands of pipers and drummers to Glasgow Green, with 35,000 spectators attending across two days. The event is delivered by Glasgow Life on behalf of the Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association, with support from VisitScotland.
