Only an evil person uses their own suffering to justify hurting others.

“Jean you’re not a killer”

cue the montage of the innocent people she killed, both directly and indirectly

Contrast with Hulk, who is definitionally not in control of himself.  When Banner comes out of it he always asks if anyone was hurt.  It's his biggest concern.

"Jean, you're not a killer"

"You gotta stop calling them terrorists"

I'm sick of this "evil woman is just a misunderstood victim" trope.

“Jean you’re not a killer” has now entered the league of morally insensitive MCU dialogue “they’ll never know what you sacrificed for them” or “you need to do better Senator”

Remember how the internet agreed that Bear from Obsession was the villain for taking someone’s autonomy with the wish?
Now that Jean Grey does it she’s just “misunderstood”
Strange

“You don’t have to be a killer.” Would’ve been better.

We need Magneto and his helmet to put the fear of God in those telepaths

Like Wanda enslaving an entire town...

Jean Grey is a prime example of why people should absolutely HATE telepaths.

The Iron Giant settled this moral debate years ago. "You are who YOU chose to be"

When she jumped into an innocent person and got them plowed by a car i knew that wasn't the Jean Grey I know.

Get ready for Jean Grey to be shoehorned as a future super heroine to be accepted and loved. Because she had trauma, she was justified.

What they could have done is still have her be the antagonist, but make her way less evil. And then Spiderman is wondering throughout the movie why she isn’t hurting any innocent people, and he thinks something is up. That would make the twist at the end work way better

Same ending like Wanda Vision. "They don't know what you sacrificed."

The easiest fix to Jean's story would be to have her be the one taken. And have Sara go on a rampage and die freeing her. Then Spider-Man has to calm Jean down before she lets her emotions destroy her morals. Then Jean learns that she can't trust people, but she also learns how scary her power can be... and that with great power.... well, you know. But this way, her introductory moral starting point isn't  "sadistic killer"

They literally turned Jean into Ghostfreak from Ben 10 in this film. She literally took fun in possessing innocent people and even took pleasure in wanting to make MJ fall off a rooftop. What's worse is she became a Karma Houdini at the end of the film, she should've taken accountability for her actions by being locked up in a mental ward.

The psychology of these people is that the more trauma you've (allegedly) suffered, the more atrocities you're allowed to get away with.

- “Jean, you can’t let the Phoenix take over and turn you into a ruthless killer!”

- “Wha…what? No, this is just me”
