One of my favorite movies as a kid. Will always remember when the blower kicked on for the first time.

fun fact which not many people know was that in the in garage scene, the engine in the coupe was actually a drag motor borrowed from a mate of the chief mechanic specially for the 1st movie, wanted it to look like it was the real deal, along with filming the cameras slowed to film at half speed to make it look faster when played back at normal speed, the technique worked a treat

It is in a USA in a Florida Museum. But many of the original parts have been takin off & replaced. I'm sure Murray Smith (the mechanic from the movie) said he still has the compliance plate for it. Will ask him in September at the Johnny the Boy Doomsday Show at Maryborough Harness Racing Club in Victoria.

FYI; the Falcon XB was produced by Ford Australia from late September 1973 through to July 1976, while the first of the Holden Commodores hit the market in November 1978. i.e. they never raced against each other in the touring car series. The XB Falcon raced against the late Holden HQ's and the HJ's.

I live near Keswick in Cumbria and remember seeing the car at Cars the Star back in late 80's

Uh, the blower was never “ functional” . Yeah, the pulleys turned, but it was still a dummy unit as in the first film.

No the roof an boot spoilers did not come from a holden monaro. I think the bloke that still has (last i heard) might disagree with that claim.

Those of us in the UK will understand when i suggest the interceptor is like Bergeracs vintage Triumph. A few about in museums and private collections all saying they are the original. I saw the Bergerac car 3 times in 3 places on the same day on Jersey.
