As many of you have mentioned in the comments, the story in this video is not accurate to the true of events of 1812. Since recording this and reading through the comments we thought that it would be best to take a look at the real story behind the Star Spangled Banner and give it the respect it deserves. Please checkout our reaction to a more accurate story of the events - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOMU5Wa94A0. I (Kai) would also like to apologise for pausing the national anthem as it started, no disrespect was intended and I wanted to briefly talk about the story before moving on with the video (it's a blind reaction and I didn't know what was coming next), in hindsight I should have started the anthem from the beginning after pausing. Thank you for watching and supporting our channel! ♥

The message wasn't that we are going to win it was that we won't give up

This is why we pledge our allegiance to our FLAG...not a president, or a king, or a queen, or any government.

The American flag is the symbol of hope even against impossible odds

The  typos in the lyrics drive me nuts!  Many people think the anthem glorifies war but if you listen to the lyrics and understand the story, you understand it was Americans fighting for our survival and their will to overcome the odds.  It's why Americans love an underdog because we were once one.

Now you can understand why we love flying our flag. It's more than just a banner. It's us, we, it's America!

We, as Americans, don't hate the British.  It was more a matter of maintaining our independence, and living under our own laws as we see fit.  We disagree among ourselves how to do that, but we will absolutely maintain that we will not be ruled by any other country.

We don't hate the British. We respect them. They're our brothers. We just refuse to take a knee, lol.

This story is about 85% true,  but very close. However, it explains  why our flag, the USA flag,  NEVER touches the ground.

Im a proud patriotic American woman! Our flag is very precious to us.

Im an asian American that salutes to our founding fathers and the early pioneers. The birth of our nation changed the world forever. We are a nation that would eventually represent all of humanity by including all cultures and all people and infusing them into our American way. We proudly show the world that together we are greater and I will forever be proud to be apart of this greatest of nations. May the United States of America stand forever.

And yet, we do NOT hate the British . Many of us ARE the British that stood fast. 🥰😘🥰

The actual flag is in the Smithsonian museum.

Old Glory doesn't fly in the wind. Instead she floats on the last breath of those who died defending her.

Thank you for your reaction. I love our flag, I love our country, and I love being an AMERICAN!

At the time of this battle in 1812, the US had been independent from Britain since 1776. The British proposed lowering the flag to surrender and become a British colony again.
Was not going to happen.
The raggedy flag from the battle is on exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC.

Now you know why you stand for that anthem and take pride in our flag.

I was a Medic in the North Carolina Army National Guard from 1981 to 1987. Now you know why Veterans do not want Old Glory on the Ground. This Battle happened during the War of 1812. There are 4 Verses to the Star spangled Banner.

This is why Americans are so protective and proud of our flag.  We never let it touch the ground in honor of our fallen heroes who sacrificed their lives for our freedoms. The Star Spangled Banner is an eye witness account of the bravery of the American people.  Never Forget!

Now you know why most of us love and honor our beautiful flag! 🇺🇸
