One of Zappa’s iconic lines…. “Music is the best.”

Justin, this may be the best rock opera because there is a narrator telling the story between songs.  It’s still chock full of Zappa absurdity!

Zappa seeming to say "of course I could do that if I wanted, but I am going to do it my way".  Hit the nail on the head...

There is a live version of Packard Goose, which is exceptional, including not one, but TWO fancy musical interludes. VERY enjoyable.

Zappa was an absolute master of guitar tone.  Not enough recognition of that IMO.

RIP dear Ike.

A magnificent performance, just imagine seeing this live at a concert. The guitar playing is wonderful, the improvisation is wonderful, and most importantly, you don't know where it's going to go next until the end. I loved it, it's a wonderful album!

Joe's Garage. My first venture into Frank and the moment everything changed for me.

"Wisdom is the domain of the Wis. Which is extinct!"

I love how in Packard Goose in the last part of the solo section the guitar and bass keep time with Vinnie going wild o(.n Zappa's directions no doubt).

The end of Packard Goose guitar work is teasing Al Dimeola with the tone and a reference to Elegant Gypsy which was Al’s album that had come out shortly before Joe’s Garage

YES!!! 🙏❤️✌️

I have rarely listened to this out of context... but about one minute into the first song, I thought----"Oh yeah...right... This is musical Heaven."

REAL MUSIC.....

"Waht is it? Musk?" ;-) :-D

Greatest fade out ever

The Solos are all recorded live from the early 79 tour,  the rhythm section is in the studio.

Joe’s Garage is one of many masterpieces by Zappa. I heard this album when I was way too young, but I’ve always loved it. Always enjoy an FZ reaction. Very cool.

Zappa employed a technique called Xenochrony for these solos, where the solo is extracted from an unrelated song and laid over disparate rhythm tracks. The effect can be very off kilter at times, but I think that was Frank’s goal.

Mary’s monologue in Packard Goose is pure poetry.

RIP Ike Willis, he was a one of a kind.

Music is the best.

Brilliant

Dude, just do the whole album. Start from the beginning.

"don't you boys know any nice songs?"
