Your presentations are like a vacation from all the repetitive design noise on the internet. Thank you for imparting your wisdom to the world.🎉🎉🎉

This is one of the best videos I’ve seen to help people understand designing a room. The cherry on top was your comment, “some people shouldn’t like your house.” Design your home for you and what brings you comfort and joy.  Your home should be your sanctuary that gives you that warm hug that all of us need at the end of the day. That’s what matters.

I've never understood how some people are ok with having a designer choose every single piece of furniture, the art on their walls and even their decorative objects. Where is their own personality? It makes me wonder if they may be missing one...

This channel deserves an Emmy! Keep up the great work sir.

This lady would feel right at home with your work.

Oh God I'm 74. I've waited all my life as a bachelor to construct around  my taste excluding my ex-wife. I have sophisticated taste but have continued to deal with female designers which cannot capture a straight masculine sophistication and rich texture. GREAT PRESENTATION!

When a YT interior designer of masculine decor gives a dap to "The Spinners" you know you're in the right place

"The room never shuts up" & "70's R&B group" 🤣 this channel isn't just gold for the stylish design concepts and ideas. The strange painting really was something.

"...the room never shuts up."   Haha, that is a perfect description that sometimes I feel, just never had the right words for it.

You have a way of calibrating that I wish I had. I struggle with how much is enough. I think I know what Spartan looks like, I think I know what clutter looks like. Keep these coming, I'm learning how to operate in the in-between. And "Some people SHOULDN'T like your house" is brilliant!

One of the best and most definitive explanations of how to do a room I’ve ever seen. Beautiful and really really constructive help—explains so much that I’ve never known.  I think I’ve always known a lot of these things instinctively when I’ve looked at a room, but I haven’t really known why I liked things or didn’t like things,  why I felt things were off-balance or not.  I just didn’t know why I felt something looked good or did not, why the room felt good to me or not. This presentation explained all of that for me. Thank you!

"a rampage of questionable decision making" I feel seen. 🤣

I'm trying to make my home a loved space, not a show case.

Outstanding video. Very deep and thought provoking. I have watched all of your videos and now I find myself critiquing every home I walk into or designs I see in magazines. It's turned into an obsession. Very fun.

I love that you talked about the "masculine home" trend of what many men think these homes require. It reminds me of the Male Living Space on Reddit, where it's men posting pictures of their homes and it's usually a tv in the middle of the room with a bed in front of it. Yes, there's some great looking homes in that sub reddit, but I believe many men gravitate towards order, peace, and personal expression though many men (like myself) don't know how to put the "feeling" or the atmosphere were going for into words or into practice. More men should feel comfortable with their design choices and not ashamed: one may like japandi style, one may like a home with pop art and graffiti wallpaper... But men should be encouraged to truly express themselves or make the room what they want, rather than following what they think they should do (or are afraid to do anything other than what they think they should do) such as having a black and white color palette, or monochromatic grey sleek, sharp angled look.

I love your videos and am extremely grateful I found them as I'm learning so much from and creating each room in my house into a different style of what I like. Yes, it goes against the rule of having a cohesive home, but I get different energies in each room of my home when I spend time in them and I get to choose which room I want to spend time in

I had allot of art. I wanted a fresher home of rooms. So cleared allot. Already the walls are bringing in more light. Clutter drains my energy now...l can feel it. Each room l cleared 80% of each room. Art is the last to go. I feel free.

Very informative video. Thank you!

Great video. This really resonated with me. I live in a house with a strong architectural history, and my interiors have evolved over a couple decades alongside it. They reflect the architecture and the country in which I live- but, most significantly, also my own life...things collected through travel, pieces bought at different stages, work given to me by artists, and objects that simply carry a story.
There isn’t one room you could really copy, and I think that is exactly the point you are making. A home with presence cannot be bought in a few shopping trips. It develops over time and gives you both a sense of place and a sense of the people who live there.
And perhaps that is the real joy of making a home: it doesn’t need to appeal to everybody. It needs to feel completely your own- the place you most want to be ~

"The room never shuts up!" Some great humour in this episode, love the content as always!
