Pistol Recoil Control like a MONSTER

Take a pistol out into empty space, load one round, and fire it with nobody holding on.

It does not flip. It travels backward in a straight line, muzzle still pointed exactly where it was, and keeps going. No rotation, no muzzle rise, nothing.

Now bring it down here and put it in a man's hand, and it flips violently. Same gun, same cartridge, same energy released.

Which tells you something that ought to change how you think about this entirely: muzzle flip is not a property of the cartridge. It is not something the gun does. It is something that happens because of where you are holding on.

In this one: why every fraction of an inch higher on the grip shortens the lever. Why the 70/30 pressure rule is contextual and what the two settings actually are. The point past which gripping harder makes your shooting worse. Why a perfect grip does nothing if your elbows are soft — and why the flip does not stop, it just relocates. The shoulder gap most shooters never notice. Why stance matters enormously here and barely matters for pure accuracy. Why training only on practice ammunition leaves you unprepared for the gun on your belt. What bore axis and a compensator genuinely buy you. And what experienced shooters actually see during recoil.

Then at the end, what really determines how much a gun flips in your hands. It is not strength — and large strong shooters are often worse at this than small ones, for a reason that is pure arithmetic.

Every gun is always loaded. Never let the muzzle cover anything you are not willing to destroy. Finger off the trigger until your sights are on the target and you have decided to fire. Know your target and what lies beyond it.
