My cringe story is from when I was in sixth grade. (Read this like a victorian child is describing it)
Once when I was 11 we had a writing assignment where three people would sit at a table, write a story for ten minutes, and then pass it on to the next person to continue writing it until it got back to you. I was in the depths of my Splatoon hyper-fixation, so I did the obvious thing. I wrote a Pearlrina fan fic. The two other people at my table were both active on fandoms, so it was fine with them. I didn't write anything explicit, it was just a cute scene of them dancing after a splatfest. All was well and good, until time ran out. The teacher called on me, and told me to read out what I had written. I had to read out my two page masterpiece to the class, and I couldn't say no. So, I began, and read out a story about to lesbian cephalopods pining over each other. The teacher had their head in their hands, some kids were snickering, but the vast majority of the reactions were either neutrality or absolute terror. I finished and sat back down, considering if I should've just ended it all by excusing myself to go to the bathroom, but then the other kids began to read out their stories, and my story quickly became the best among them. There was a love triangle with a rope, Putin became a gay furry, James from team rocket showed up and killed someone with an orange. So after the class was over, my work was dubbed as the best, despite its fruity origins.

As someone who is trying to be myself more, it’s nice seeing people fight against this anti-cringe stuff. I used to be an anime obsessed girl in elementary school, said UwU, OwO and called people senpai, worse I got into a furry phase for elementary school into middle school so I had that phase. Then due to all the anti-cringe narrative going around I became boring, now I’m embracing who I and and the cringe that comes with it, hell yeah do I have fan ocs for Roblox games, and a game I’m obsessed with (bug fables if you are curious), it’s so much more fun to be cringe and I hope more and more people realize that

Cringe experiences? Boy I have one, when I was like 6-9 years old I used to think I was a werewolf and I full on believed it, I thought I wasn't human and I was "special" 😭✌🏻

Personally, I don't like or use the term "phase". It implies that something never happened and has been constantly used to dismiss many things that are part of people. I prefer to use the term "era" as eras DO come and go depending on the person.

I still am in my weeb era as I still love anime and manga and I'm currently hyperfixated on Ninjago right now, so I haven't watched anime in a long time.

OK AND ALSO SLIGHTLY RELATED.. there was this girl in my class (i was bout 6y in this) and they reallly liked kpop so anytime she talked about it i would fr EAVESDROP ON HER and then start talking to my friend incredibly loudly about the same bands in hopes of her hearing. she never did but it was worth a shot ig 😞

oh and you cant forget the time when i was ( again, the same age as the last few, why was my cringiest phase at 7???? ) a big itsfunneh fans so id quote draco and lunar (my two favs) regularly and say i was a "tomboy" (yall remember those itsfunneh gacha animatics of the song tomboy??? just me??) i would also regularly talk about other girls in my class being too "girlie" (again, WE LISTEN AND WE DONT JUDGE!!!!!)
