6 outdated jeans you need to stop wearing in 2026—and the 6 modern, polished outfit formulas to replace them with this fall. In this video, I’m calling out the outdated denim silhouettes that quietly age your outfits and showing you how to style Fall 2026's best wearable trends instead.

From low-rise Y2K bootcuts and skinny jeans to thin jeggings and dated embroidery, we’re ditching the shapes that hold your style back and replacing them with controlled wide-leg trousers, barrel cuts, and updated slim-straights.

Nothing shortens your legs like a pair of wide cuffed jeans, especially when this cuff is a lighter color. Hats off to anybody who can pull that off!

My humble opinion is ladies will continue wearing skinny jeans and also jeggings 😊😊...I don't care for barrel jeans because they are not kind to my body type....there will always be trends and whatever is in for jeans more power to you 😊😊😊❤❤❤

I don’t at all love the wide cuff jean on anyone. My opinion. However I am loving all of the looser fitting jeans in the legs. They almost look more like a trouser. Very flattering. Thank you Serena

I'm sooo glad I never jumped on the distressed, holey, ripped jean scene...could not make myself even try a pair on lol...my dad is in his 90s and would always ask the daughters and granddaughter why they couldn't afford and entire pair of pants LOL.

Love skinny jeans with high riding boots for fall. Have no intention to change...ever

I am being critical this morning. And don’t take it personal, I love your channel!! I am a 73 year young woman, and a snow bird. I am leaving soon for Florida, and it’s 90 down there most days. There is no way I could wear any of these jackets there, even to go out at night the temperature doesn’t go down past 75. The long jeans are too warm. Please reevaluate what to wear for those of us living in the heat most of the time. I have purchased the very light weight Athleta pants that are pull on and look good dressed up or down. I think the trends are moving in that direction. I will never get rid of jeans totally I have a barrel style from Walmart that actually look good. I can wear them in the fall up north for a short time. I have a Chico’s pair of pull on’s I love as well. Still finding an in between pant is a challenge and I believe Athleta is up to that challenge, although very expensive!! And if you look at our young people they are moving in that direction as well. Being the devils advocate today.

I ❤ the variety of shapes currently available in jeans. The straight-leg jeans are my current favorite, but boot cut is always flattering too. You curated an excellent collection of options, Serena, as always, and look fabulous! 🙋‍♀️💕

I love the barrel jeans!! And yes alot of the 'outdated' jeans are in my dresser, the ripped/hole jeans and ankle jeans need to be retired and refreshed. Thank you!!!!!

I live in Florida and no one wears kitten heals. We also don’t wear pointy boots or loafers. It’s just not practical here in Florida even in winter time. It’s basically sandals, fashion tennis shoes, or tennis shoes. So I love watching your videos and your outfits, but it’s just really hard to figure out what shoes to wear here in Florida.

The barrel jeans work pretty well for me! I like them. Good advice.

I have collected Levi vintage jeans for years, they are worth thousands. I always feel stylish. I don't fall into the trend trap. Just my view.

Who ever thought barrel jeans were flattering?

@shadowrider195 7 days ago

I am 6' tall with a short torso and long legs. I love the long tunics and leggings. When I wear a short top I look like someone on stilts. But frankly I don't think it's flattering on anyone. So each to their own.

The brown leather lapel jacket is gorgeous… and I love the way you styled it 🤎

I don't like barrel jeans. Everyone looks bow legged. I am a fan of straight leg jeans & a nice blazer.

@UrsaBella 7 days ago

love skinny jeans. I have a nice body shape and the skinnys look phenomenal

As a 5'1" plus size, I have to say that the wide legs with the wide cuff is extremely unflattering. It makes someone built like me look as wide as they are tall. Two thumbs down! Thank goodness there are so many other more flattering jean options right now!

I found you not too long ago and I love your channel! Hands down my favorite. As a fellow Southern girl, I love and appreciate your aesthetic. Classic and classy with pops of trend, which I LOVE. (Just bought the Quince mini shoulder bag for my trip to NOLA this weekend) The only thing I can't part with is my boyfriend jeans. I do have a bigger cuff on them, no rips and wear either cute flat sandals or the on trend low profile tennis shoes but dang I still love them on football Saturdays!! 😁 Thanks for bringing outfits together that I might never have thought of. It's refreshing to my mind and my closet!!
