Triumph Tiger Cub, fitting Electrex World STK-200 ignition. This is a simple ignition only system, requires no battery. This replaces the points, the Lucas alternator rotor and stator, there is no coil for generating power for the lights (Electrex World do sell an alternative, similar system with a lighting coil), in this installation a total loss battery will be added at a later date to give some power for limited lights, horn etc.

What a beautiful little bike Nigel. I remember a friend of mine had a Tiger Cub back in about 1976. Great fun to ride. As I now live in rural Australia, the chance of me ever owning a Cub is very remote. Still find your videos interesting though. Thanks for posting.

A lad in the garage where I worked had a Sports Cub very like this model, same colour too. I always thought it much nicer than my (standard) mist green C15. Les

That’s a lovely Cub, l have only fitted Electrex World EI systems to a C15 and a B40 with the extra lighting coil. They have the luxury of the 3 posts on the crankcase for the stator so you can accurately time and check them, always seems hit and miss having the stator in the primary cover, but a far better option than the original ET system. The previous 2 Cubs l have done plus the one l have at the moment l have fitted the Lucas RM21 stator with the matching 6 magnet rotor. This gives 120 watts of energy, (12v 10a) so lots of power for a separate cdi system and bright lights, plus anything else you need to power, there are a couple l have done on my channel.

The Elextrex World STK-200L for the cub is the same as the the one you have just fitted but has the extra lighting coil with a rectifier regulator for battery charging for lights, however not sure of the wattage output of the lighting coil as it recommends LED bulbs. The rec/regulator unit is quite unique as it will do 6 or 12 volts by cutting a link wire so easy to integrate into an existing wiring arrangement.

Lovely bike Nigel. I do think your friend has missed a trick not going for the full kit, the lighting output is really good on the Electrex systems. My spider senses told me that drain plug was stripped, I think yours did too! Great video as usual.
