Thanks for putting this video together, with multiple troubleshooting steps, and instructions on why, as well as various camera angles, so we can see what you are talking about. Also, the "excuse me" as you apologize to the camera for having to move in front of it was rather humble amd polite! 😂

Well, eventually it decided to work good. I always like to install the battery, rules out bad connections. For a while it seemed like possibly starter solenoid maybe going bad. When the contacts get worn it would cause voltage drop causing a slow crank. Glad to see you checked flywheel key, too. For a while it sounded out of time. Nice video.

When I get one that turns slow...i always check first for hydrolock..pull the plug and spin the motor. Nikki carbs are prone to flooding so I always install a gas shut off to limit gas into the carb when not running. Often that is the problem before I jump on the cam being the problem. Its a dam shame that Briggs has never re engineered those cams...bad design. I've pulled engines apart with slow rev and discovered that the cam looks fine, and the decompression mechanism is intact,,,but apparently, they get a lazy spring or something. Replaced the cam and it works fine.

i always use a impact wrench to put on a flywheel...the only time i ever use a torque wrench actually is on a engine head replacement. I've snapped off head bolts, not fun! For the sump, i use my calibrated wrist to ensure they are tight but not stupidly tight, and antiseize on anything that might need to come apart again. for beginners yes use a torquewrench

Torque wrench, I barely use it on my vehicles, lol but I was wondering if you ever seen a drive belt stop pulling on a john deere , pulls a very little in 1st gear, I know it's a little stretched but it went from doing fine to not pulling at all just about. It's a 5 speed L 100 series, 42" cut john deere

I'm trying to narrow down what my issue may be. Worked fine all summer and now when you turn the key you hear a little buzzing. It sounds electrical, and that's it. Engine doesn't attempt to crank at all. The battery was bulging so I replaced it with no change. I'm really just guessing. I could do the spark plug next, but if it was a spark plug, wouldn't the engine attempt to fire up?
