I missed almost the entire season because I was in Boot Camp. We had just completed movement from MCRD to Edson Range, and our Senior Drill Instructor came up to the other DI's and said, "Dallas beat Pittsburg." One of the guys I went to Boot Camp with on the "buddy system" let out a little yelp (the buddy system was where they would take guys from the same area and put them in the same platoon) and the SDI immediately went on the attack. "WHO WAS THAT?" private Reneau proudly says, "Sir, this private, Sir!" So they put him in the pit. Then he asks, "Any more Cowboys fans?" So I, and a couple other privates raised our hands and he put us in the pit too. Then he says, "Where's that other guy that came with you two?" (Meaning me and Reneau) "Where's Huerta? Are you a Cowboys fan too?" "SIR NO SIR!" I said, "YES HE IS!" so he puts him in the pit too. Then they decided to just put the whole platoon in the pit. Hilarious. Then I missed the Super Bowl because I was PCS between MCAS El Toro and NAS Millington. Was in airports or on a plane for the whole thing. I finally got to see that Super Bowl in the internet age, all grainy and a little distorted here and there. You would think that the NFL would put up high quality recordings of all the Super Bowls.
The best part of this video is big voice guy, John facinda..PS yes, I think the steelers would have probably beat this year's Cowboys. Team, but they were upset by the Broncos, so we'll never know.
I had the poster of the 1977 team on my wall n my room. The cowboys were my favorite team since the early 70s. Drew Pearson was my favorite receiver, the original #88.
They can show all the greatest Dallas cowboys films 🎥 🎞 but until they become learn do it means nothing in 2025 with fans we need to see it from the players and coaches
I'm a huge Cowboys fan but I believe the Steelers would have beat the Cowboys in the Super Bowl XII had they made it. They beat the Cowboys 28-13 on November 20 that season. Then they beat the Cowboys (who I believe were even stronger the next year) in Super Bowl XIII. Good thing Denver beat Pittsburgh in the playoffs.
Really imo the only boneheaded thing one of the greatest coaches of all time did. Kinda funny when Landry did decide to go w Staubach the Cowboys after years of next year's champs destroyed the Dolphins 24-3 and won the MVP ...I'm still so pi#$ed that Landry didn't make Staubach the starter. We should've won SB 5 easily. Even one of the Cowboys players said " Morton doubts himself....where Roger ALWAYS believes he has a chance to win no matter what
