When cutting detail work like that gasket - don't have your finger/s in front of the blade and always use a brand new blade. A new blade makes it very easy to follow the cutting line and makes a clean edge on the cut material. Most importantly, with a dull blade you will try to use too much force and in turn that will cause the blade to jump out of control right into your fingers or hand. You'll learn fast the first time it happens.

Packets of new blades are cheap - opposed to blood and yelling. A newer up to date model cutting knife would help too.
You can plan your cutting - 1. cut the bolt holes, 2. cut the induction hole, 3. cut the outer circumference last and you could even use good, sharp scissors for that. You'll have a good grip on the job throughout because it remains firmly supported in the gasket sheet till the last cut.

Great video Nestor, you have a real tallent for YT and good delivery. I have enjoyed every upload.  Its good to see some broader content with the outboard refurb too. Im a powertrain development engineer so I had to smile at the end as,  as soon as it didnt fire i guessed you had the HT leads swapped its a really common mistake.  Generally petrol does loose some of the more volatile components over time but usually an engine will run on fuel thats 10 years old!  So advice for future rebuilds label everything and take lots of pictures and always check the simple fixes first as sometimes you get lucky.    I will buy you a coffee now all the best for your boat fund and A levels.

Old fuel is not the issue folk say it is.  Though water in the float chamber often is.

You so remind me of myself at the same age. Based out of Benfleet on the Thames we were sailing 21 and 23 ft boats crossing the channel to Belgium then exploring the coast. Some wonderful memories now 50 years old. Then along came adulthood and I ended up in the middle of Africa hundreds of miles from the sea. No more sailing. So don’t let that happen to you. Plenty of other sailing YouTubers to emulate so I’m keen to be one of your stowaways as you set out on your own journeys. Great videos by the way. 🎉🎉
