It is funny that the parts of this documentary that were 'modern' when it was shot are history now.

I was 17 when this was broadcast in 1992. For the past 13-odd years I have been researching and discovering my ancestry and now know that my forebears were living in Brisbane from 1864 and it is incredible to see this documentary and get a better idea of the things they experienced and saw going on around them in those long ago days. Thank you channel seven, thank you TDXAV and RIP Frank Warwick.

Just viewed, 23.3.24. Such a wonderful series about our city,  Brisbane.  Much thanks and respect to Frank Warwick Kay McGrath and the other television presenters of the 70s  80s and 90s.  An incredible amount of information, historical photos are  included.  Much gratitude to the efforts of  researchers who have plumbed the depths of Brissie archives and those editors and producers who gave us this historic photographic time capsule.  From a  Brisbane born  senior,  much gratitude. Thanks for this upload! I actually remember watching it in 92 i was in my first ever job at the age of 16 .... I still live here and I still work at the same company 😂 I just love Brisbane, and I love the history, thanks again!

I loved watching the World Around us when I was a kid.  Would it be correct in saying it started in the late 1970s?   I loved watching it on Saturday nights.  It was a good night for TV.  Usually my parents went out for dinner and I was at home with a packets of chips and a chocolate bar to keep me entertained along with my grandma.  I think after this was shows like Young Ramsey, Eight is Enough etc.  And it was good to see all the presenters from Channel 7!

……Boxing referee Pat Hill, lived in a friend of my family’s house, on Petrie Terrace, next to the B A T. I’d met him when visiting there, back in the mid 50’s………
