Today's story has been told by a Japanese woman whose father is Pakistani and whose mother is Japanese. The woman's name is Safia, named after her grandmother.
When Safia passed 10th grade in Japan, her father sent her to his sister's house in the city of Sialkot, Pakistan, so that she could do her Bachelor's in Pakistan and become familiar with Pakistani culture, language, and traditions.
Safia came to Pakistan and started going to university. There she met a boy named Tauqeer. They fell in love and got married. The husband wanted to live in Pakistan, and Safia agreed. Her father-in-law set up a car showroom for his son-in-law. He would send cars from Japan, and the son-in-law would sell them in Pakistan and earn a profit. Life was going very well.
Safia had a sister-in-law named Shumaila. Safia became her friend. Her brother-in-law used to quarrel with his wife, and Shumaila would cry in front of Safia. One day Shumaila told her that she loves someone else and that she was married against her will.
One day, fed up with her husband's behavior, the sister-in-law ran away from home with that lover. When Safia found out, she went by car and explained to Shumaila that when there is a legal way available, you should first take a divorce from your husband and then marry the man of your choice. Shumaila understood and came back home. No one in the house even knew that Shumaila had left.
Then one day when her brother-in-law insulted his wife, she went to her parents' house and filed a case for divorce in court. She obtained a divorce decree from the court and after eight months married the man of her choice. For this case, Safia remained her moral supporter on the phone and helped her financially as well.
Safia had two daughters and life was going very well. One day Shumaila messaged Safia saying that she had helped her and she got rid of her first husband. Her mother-in-law heard the message and a fight started in the house.
Safia's point was that Shumaila had a legal option which she adopted, and I helped her. In this way, disorder was avoided and Shumaila left by her own choice. But the family and her husband objected that this is an insult to us, Safia should not have done this.
Because of this matter, distance developed between the husband and wife and fights started. Safia considered her help to be right, while her husband considered it wrong. When the argument increased, Safia took her daughters and moved to Japan. She believed she had not given any bad advice, while her in-laws considered her guilty.
For eight years her husband did not contact her, but when her mother-in-law died, Tauqeer called his wife and admitted that he was wrong and Safia was right. Now the husband wants to restore the relationship again. Safia has asked whether she did anything wrong, and whether she should forgive her husband and restore the relationship.
I advised that for the sake of the children and for her own happiness, she should make peace with her husband, and she did nothing wrong by helping Shumaila. But Safia wants the viewers of my videos to tell her what she should do.
