We took this Viking cruise as the first cruise after Covid. Tested us everyday. My Dad was one of the first regiments to cross the Rhine at Remagen. The ship was scheduled to pass by the Ludendorff Bridge pillars at about 3am. The ships captain was kind enough to arrange to provide a wake up call and allow me to view the pillars via spotlight. They stopped for 15 minutes so I could view both sides of the river. It made my trip

Thanks for a little taste of the sites (and weather) in late summer/early Fall......my wife and I are booked on the OCT 4-16 2026 (Basel to Amsterdam) version of this same trip, and I've been wondering about appropriate dress.

I thought that the hooks at the top of the buildings were for public executions.

There are more bikes than people in Amsterdam.
Those 'hooks' are also on some old buildings in NYC, formerly New Amsterdam.  Also, no kids under 18 allowed on Viking River Cruises. That's why most people are retirees or close to it.

Nice video, how did your wife do with the cruise and taking the trips when you docked? I have mobility issues, I use all from a wheelchair, canes to a walker.
