Xander captured some different stuff on this trip so check out his channel (his version is coming soon): https://www.youtube.com/@XanderBudnick
Normally I would spread out posts but I'm gonna be away for a while and getting this out now.  We have a big trip coming up so if there are no posts for a bit, it means our trip is going as planned :)

Jon, your willingness to act as loving father-figure by taking a young, wild, uncultured, and struggling Xander with you, and do what you can against incredible odds to help mold the boy into a man, is inspiration to us all. Such selflessness. The world needs more role models like you!

🤣

The boys are back in town!

I love that you pay such attention to the audio in your videos.  No other outdoor channel I've seen lets me hear all the sounds of nature like yours do.

I like the white throated sparrow's call! 🐴🐴🐴🐴🐴 Great video!

It’s so rare we get to see such a healthy father and son relationship in media. Good that Xander didn’t get lost when you set him free.

This video reminds me of that trip we went on together recently :) good stuff my man

My favourite friendship to watch on YouTube! The boys doing it yet again 👊🏼 great video and amazing shots time and time again!!!!

Money's tight. Gas is pricey. I'm so glad I can watch this video from the comfort of my home, but still feel immersed in nature and relaxed as if I'm out there. Just a little escape. Enjoying nature without all the planning and heavy portages lol! Thanks John.

Whats the song at 47:58?
And 1:02:47?

Jon, I have been watching your channel since the start. As a fellow Ontarian born guy who cut his chops tripping and adventuring in northern Ontario, you really capture the essence of how incredible and majestic it is. I am now in the Yukon living my outdoors dream life, but your adventure stories and videos really allow me to still see, feel, and experience the place that fueled the desire to explore even further. I have to say your channel has evolved in such a spectacular way!! It’s always been great but I feel like you have really stepped up your editing, narration, videography and just content in general lately, and you’re only getting better! Seriously man thank you for creating such amazing content and delivering it to us!! Truly impressive!

Nothing makes me happier than when my two favorite YouTubers collaborate. Great footage as always. Wish I could go with you guys!

Such beautiful close-ups of birds and bees and ants and flowers in this one. Loved the “soundtrack” of bird song too. This video had a great vibe from the 2 of you together. Like others, I found your channel through Xander’s but I’ve stayed and watched most of your list now … just the year of 155 videos to go, to be caught up to the present. Your pacing is impeccable, IMO. Not too slow not too fast.

This Channel is healing for my after work soul, do you agree with me😅?

This footage is planet earth level. I can't believe you managed to document so many amazing creatures while keeping your 33 year old son out of trouble, bravo! Hahaha you and Xander are great.

My husband and I I did a trip out from Biscotasing. We took a 2 car train that went from Sudbury to Chapleau. It was the only way in, no road back then! Gear and canoe in one car, people in the other. It only ran on weekends and they would let you off wherever you wanted. We chose to get off in Bisco. When you wanted to go home you just stood by the track on the next/whatever weekend to get picked up! We did quite a few portages, including one with a flatbed railway car that you put your gear on and pulled up a hill and down the other side into the next lake. It was in the late 70’s. Best trip of our life. No nav equipment, only topo maps. We got lost. Also had a major storm and almost lost our canoe! Great memories!

Cheers to the high life! Cheers to the little things! Cheers to the birds and the bees, the cuteness of Minks omg!,the funny😂🤭🤣, the sweet friendship, the beauty, the recovery👏💯 🙏, the peace🕉 and the delicious foods!!😊 🦅

Eagles have trouble getting off the ground. Like a C5 Galaxy jet they need a lot of runway to get airborne. From the ground they will run and flap their wings until they can get lift. They prefer to jump off of something. That one could have taken off from that raised log but you were in its path so it chose to retreat into cover. They can leap up and get airborne but its a lot of energy and they need plenty of room to flap their wings.

Great to see you guys back out there. Jon, the audio in your vids is so good I can run my Merlin bird ID app next to the computer and ID the birds you're hearing. Adds a whole new dimension to Lost Lakes vids...

You never spend enough time in one location I love what you're doing don't get me wrong it just feels like you're always on the move never taking in the entire beauty of that spot. I get you have a timeline just try to soak in that one spot.

You boys gave me some peace I didn’t even realize I needed. God bless your souls🙏🏻
