Newcastle United are being linked with Bo Åsulv Hegland, one of Scandinavia’s most intriguing young forwards — and at the same time, Artem Stepanov is emerging as a genuinely unique profile in modern football.

In this video, we break down why these two players fit the “rule‑breaking” identity Newcastle are quietly building under the new recruitment model.

⚫️⚪️ Hegland: direct, fearless, vertical, and built for chaos in transition.
⚫️⚪️ Stepanov: a rare hybrid profile — Can be coached into a prolific Goal-Scorer.

Are Newcastle preparing to rewrite the rules on the pitch?
Are these the types of players who reshape the club’s identity for the next era?

Let’s dive into the scouting, the traits, the tactical impact, and what this means for NUFC’s future direction.

👇 Drop your thoughts in the comments — would you take either of them at St James’ Park?

Two nice gems 💎 that would thrive at our club, the supporters would be thrilled!

The Premier league don't want a competitive league. It's them that need to change their ideas.

Thanks Sr. Mango, interesting video.
Nice shout out to Gilberto Mora (or Morita as he's known here in Mexico), I'd love for us to go in for him, still only 17 but the real deal. Unlikely as Real and Barca are already sniffing and he's got links to Barca from when he was under 16.
Stepanov reminds me a bit of Haaland based on your clips, and it's not just the man bun! Just the way he moves.

We need at least 2-3 flair players to bring the utmost excitement and chemistry within the players and the team. I'd love to see that in Newcastle

Good video Mango. I like the look of Stepanov. Looks like a Haaland regen. Would be good to have an out and out No.9 at the club. I like Osula but I don't think he's the answer long term. Do you expect lots of clubs to be going in for Stepanov next summer?

we definitely need like an odegard in our side only one we have is ramsay but i’m just not convinced on him desperately need a goal scorer aswell that’s without a doubt

I feel like I can predict the next pass when we play. I know absolutely nothing about football, really. That's not good.

What do you think about Mammaa from watford?

@andyh323 4 days ago

100% right. The rules are not fit for purpose. A legacy club cheat code throughout Europe. The majority of the rest too afraid to risk them forming a Super-league.

Probably the best finisher I've seen at Newcastle was Micky Quinn, he was a natural at it, all types of finishes with the minimum off fuss. My favourite was Malcolm MacDonald but he relied on blistering pace and strength which guaranteed him a lot of chances, a bit like Andy Cole. Shearer was the most like Mick but with much more mobility and technique but Quinn was a Robbie Fowler type, not interested in anything else but scoring.

More great players but I'm worried that people will spot our 4-5-4 formation by the time we've slotted them all in 😂 Seriously though, would Hegland replace Willock as a creative 10? Would love Stepanov or someone like him - we have a long tradition of free scoring No. 9s and there's always a place for a new one. Your description of his profile sounds like the player we thought Woltemade was going to be so what is not to like?

They made a choice either compete and cheat or linger in obscurity and watch the red cartel buy the league every year. I wouldn’t even punished them for spending there OWN money

need someone physical built like a brick house - premier league is aggressive - long slim strikers are just getting flattened - when haaland is running full steam at you there is not not much you can do
