I don’t think Frozen Trail is enough to keep me around yet, but it finally feels like ARC is moving in the right direction. What do you think?

I sure hope they don't just stop at guns. Imagine Ascended shields, or better yet: Augments.
If the PvE mode works, I hope they take it further and add reasons to play it, like objectives, heavily-armored ARC with their own super-shields. From those super-shields you get an ARC shield generator, and from it you can ascend a shield to be able to recharge itself after a delay, or trickle-charging itself constantly.
Embark said they can't just flood the map with loads of ARC, but I know they could update them, update their behaviors, their health values, hell make 'em explode after death, destroying all their parts in the process and killing any nearby players

i would absolutely love the idea of being able to physically walk around in your outpost, and treat it like your own little home. imagine extracting from a raid and it spawns you in there, so cozy.

its okay to binge a game and then take time away from it. we need to get better at looking at the steam trends and differentiating between the lull between content and the death of a title.

If you want to go out exploring to come back and find that your outpost has been working and completing stuff while you were gone you should play Satisfactory. Then you could set up a factory to make stuff while you go out exploring. You could then come back to find that you forgot to place a belt or set the recipe on the smelter and it made nothing while you were gone for 4 hours.

The thing about timers could work, but imo only if the timer goes down if you enter a raid

Warframe made me hate timers forever, and i barely played that

I’m new to the game—I’ve been playing for two weeks and am level 65. I recently learned how the expedition system works, only to find out they’d removed it. I can barely finish any missions requiring Cores because whenever I go to kill the Matriarch or the Queen, there are ten guys hiding, waiting to snatch the loot the moment it drops. And whenever I try to go in with purple or gold gear, I always get matched against PvP players who kill me while I’m fighting an Arc. Not to mention the guys who use a stealth device to vanish after luring three Arcs right to you; they hide, let the Arcs kill you, and then take your loot without ever getting flagged as aggressive. I’ve literally gotten bored of playing.

As a Tarkov player with 7k hours, hideout is whatever, its not the element that'll keep players playing for thousands of hours. Arc need more elements (more unique loot spawns, weapons, meaningful quests and trader unlocks, and an endgame wipe goal)

6:08 love this so much. You’d have to upgrade your tool to breach more quietly for example. Other skills would need proficiency. The more containers you loot the faster you breach or the more you run the better your stamina.

I would love if they brought something from helldivers. Make the projects be part of a community goal that unlocks the next map, or map condition, or next Arc boss and new weapons. Merge the gameplay and story together, along with maybe expeditions could work with this too, like maybe instead of leaving, you're giving a large amount of resources for the community to expand, or make new things or attack the Emperor's or something like that

4:43 Yeah no, Arc is grindy enough as it is for the average person. I don't need it to pull timers from warframe or drops from monster hunter. The game isn't designed for an infinite content grind and that's what I love about it.

Banger ideas. I think a good outcome of the PvE emphasis that we're also starting to see in marathon is the transformation of extraction shooter into a more Destiny-like looter shooter. Destiny and other like it have a lot of good progression and fun activities, adding on the risk of dropping your shit when you die would be a fantastic spin on it and make a lot of room to incentivize different components of the game

I immediately clocked that the reward pass was just a battle pass, the idea was cemented further when they said "premium pass*

Can't say that's too exciting, but embark does need a way to make money off raider tokens ig

While I am waiting to see the update, I am having hope that it will be good and bring more people back to the game. I think this is the first update that truly was made post launch as well because it seems to be a reaction to what we players were doing in the game. Like the grapple seeming to be a reaction to how people used the snap hook, or Embark adding cameras for those that love to load into and just film other raiders. I love the idea of taking elements of Monster Hunter for ARC parts! Not only would it give me more reasons to raid but give me a display case for those parts and I will not stop raiding until that thing is bursting.

All the other stuff is well and good but the ONE thing I’ve wanted the most since the Cold Snap update is a system like monster hunter. Very low droprates on some parts forcing you to take down hundreds of arc to upgrade your weapons, outpost etc
