Thank you so much for sharing your zine thoughts and process. I’m already looking forward to the zine launch video!

wonderfully creative!

Ive been struggling to make zines for a long time after my big long phase of it being my main special interest and after going though some things. This video is making me want to make them again

After i had been practising capoeira for a year or so, i attended a capoeira party in Leeds (i made and brought some popcorn!) At that party i got to play the atabaque which is a standing hand drum (i am no good at drumming but it's hands down one of my favourite things to do). In capoeira the music played provides an essential service to the game/performance and is quite simple and easy to play. When one is part of the roda in capoeira, one will always be clapping and singing to encourage the players, but in many groups one may also contribute by offering to take over the playing of an instrument such as the pandeiro (tambourine) or atabaque. This offer is usually gratefully received as the musician being relieved is then able to take a turn inside the roda (playing capoeira). I think for me the ingredients of bliss are movement, creative expression and sense of purpose (doing something valued by another person or community). Anyway playing the atabaque that day i felt that there ought to be more of this - music, art, dance, craft, expression, that is participatory, that is open to everyone to DO, not to spectate or consume, but to do. Thank you Natalie. I am very grateful for your videos.

I would love to do a zine swap❤

Exciting! Congratulations :)

That's so cool ☺️ I made some cyanotypes zines two years ago, I think I'll try again. Thanks for the motivation
