The all too real aspect of this movie is how everyone eventually stops caring.

The fact the killer is played by multiple men because there were multiple descriptions of the Zodiac killer is genius! I didn't realize that for the longest time.

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a movie capture the unyielding indifference of time better than this one. The clock keeps ticking, no matter how hard we pull on the hands.

Ted Cruz being the Zodiac killer really does feel like a lifetime of politics away at this point

Robert walks away because it's all he needed. He isn't a cop and no one would go arrest Leigh, but Robert himself said "I just want to look him in the eyes" and so he did.

You have Iron Man, Hulk, and Mysterio searching for the Zodiak Killer.

Even though John Caroll is only in the film for like 10 minutes, his performance is so believable and well done

"The last time I saw this face was July 4th, 1969. I am very sure that's the man who shot me." An impeccable film that I've watched too many times to count. Not one scene is wasted.

Zodiac works as a great triple feature with The Town That Dreaded Sundown (1976) and Bong Joon-ho's Memories of Murder

First "hoyevver" drops at 3:50, proving yet again one should never skip the ad reads- for He is tricksy.

Not only were they apathetic about the Zodiac, the police continuously flopped on each of his crimes. They were literally seconds away from catching him one night, but dropped the ball. The cop even talked to him and let him through.

I always took the ending as Robert walking away from Arthur with the certainty that he was the Zodiac. What simply mattered was that he looked him in the eye and let him know that he worked it out.

Regarding the point about the Zodiac breaking the pattern, I don’t think they meant he was breaking his pattern but breaking the pattern (in that serial killers usually have one) by not having one.

The murder scene of the couple is absolutely chilling in its cold blooded starkness.

It literally gave me nightrmares

My theory ever since I first heard about the case and saw this movie is that whoever he was, he didn't choose to stop. Most likely, he died a very sudden but also very ordinary death, such as a car accident or illness, before anyone could get close.

Zodiac and Memories of Murder are 2 of the best true crime serial killers movies because both ended on an unsatisfying note. There's no closure once the crimes has turned into local legends that while the victims suffering became twisted entertainment for people to speculate on.

I always interpreted the ending with Arthur and Robert as Robert finally letting go of his obsession. Its set up earlier in the film with Robert telling Toschi " I need to know who he is. I need to stand there, I need to look him in the eye, and I need to know that it's him."
