Such a sad state of affairs when a beautiful old building is destroyed by fire.

In the olden days that building would have been saved now nothing will be saved. Councils have got no money.

If they had no plans to knock it down before the fire, than they could see that the front would have been able to be saved.

Do we know if the Insurance Companies pay out on these mysterious fires? There seem to be a lot of them.

Seems a lot of fires in Blackpool recently

Sad how many fires have happened in recent years. Your really old videos will have so many historic accounts of interesting buildings no longer with us. That's why documenting everything is so important.

Thanks Stephen for up date, it’s also good to get more information on these old buildings. I really hope they rebuild in the same place and don’t leave it empty for years. X

Ty for sharing Stephen, even though another sad story for Blackpool 😢

Hi Stephen what a shame another building down in Blackpool 😮

The collapse of that storefront must have been considered imminent and a public hazard for them to demolish it so quickly.  Something is always kicking off in Blackpool.

Funny how buildings ,hotels catch alight

Fantastic  coverage  Stephen on the Waterloo  Rd  fire and demolition,  love to see a n update what's happening  in Blackpool  during  the winter months  !!!

I think most of us would love a go at that

What a shame; it looks like a nice old art deco cinema? Another missing tooth in Blackpool’s smile!

Great shame another bit of history gone. Solidly built by the look of things

By heck if they knock
much more down there will be nothing left by Easter

Hi Stephen. BAMA Ron here. I was the person who did the research on this building. According to records, this building was the Palladium Theatre build in 1928. It was a silent movie venue that held 1400 people. In my estimation the face was not a facade, but a lode bearing wall. That's why it is so difficult to demolish. Also, the face of the old Masonic Lodge 'is' a facade. It carries no weight from the building behind it. A view from above on Google Earth shows how huge the theatre was and also shows the old building behind the Masonic Lodge. The Crafty Bear and the Krazy Kingdom are part of the original theatre building. Thank you for your excellent reporting. Best regards, Ron

The Council needs to look into these fires of Blackpools old buildings??
To Steve , Staff and your families X I truly feel your heart break X
Come back bigger and stronger X❤ Blackpool needs people like you all X

Terrible little bit of south shore gone 😢

Strange how thriving businesses rarely catch fire?
