Real shame verity went through and loyd didnt. The public would have loved him over verity for sure: such a great spritit. Simons mistake was clear when verity totally ruined the song during her performance in week 1 and went home the week after, he even said afterwards that he made a mistake chosing verity. Simon doesnt always get it right.
O boy were they strange in the first season. Instead of inviting them to Miami, LA, St. Tropez they gave them bus tickets ... no, wait, they had to buy the tickets themselves...omg š
What I really hate is how serious the judges take it when they say no to someone. I mean, you're a manager with millions, if you truly like someone, sign them up! It could be a smaller contract, but don't act like there's nothing you can do.
I remember bits of this season but didn't really get into the X Factor until the following year; I can only say I'm glad to be able to look back to when it all started. The 1st three seasons were great & where I felt there was real competition; the years following season 5 was where the term "fixed" really sunk in, I especially rolled my eyes at contestants who say they do it for others when they really only do it for themselves.
ya think Simon was hinting when he said, āif u walked into my office i would offer u a recording contract?ā I take that as if heās telling him, āhey i didnāt put u through to the live shows but i do want to give u a record dealā
Rowetta got IN?! Verity got IN?! Lloyd was KICKED?! WHAT THE HELL IS THIS! I can only summarize that they thought Rowetta would give them interesting footage later into the show and she wouldn't get far enough for the frickin recording contract, which only disgusts me. Yes, this is a show, but it's supposed to be about TALENT, not DRAMA!
