MythBusters — S12 E12 "Road Rage" — Aired July 31, 2014

Road rage car duels on cliffside roads are a staple of action cinema — two drivers trading paint, bumping each other toward the edge, the tension building over several miles until one finally goes over — and Adam and Jamie decided to test whether real physics actually produces that kind of protracted duel or whether the first aggressive bump at the right angle simply ends the confrontation immediately, building a custom track with a drop zone at one end, equipping both cars with accelerometers and cameras, and trading increasingly aggressive bumps at different speeds and angles to find out whether the Hollywood version of a road rage duel has any basis in how two cars actually interact when one driver is trying to force the other off the road.
