I know this will be one of those "no duh" comments but I'll say it anyway--the Hawks from this era (late 80s and 90s) were just so awesomely vicious. I don't think I've seen one game from that time period involving the Hawks where they didn't hit hard and try to intimidate their opponents. Absolutely unapologetic about playing that style. I know they didn't win Stanley Cups during this time but I love watching their games anyway. It's like every night they went out there with the attitude of "whether you beat us or not, we're going to make sure you know you were in a damn fight when the game is over." I'd venture to guess that most opponents were black and blue after playing the Hawks during this era. Undoubtedly the smaller ice surface at Chicago Stadium aided their style considerably too.

How TF have I not heard of or seen this channel before?
Hockey fights, you can't beat that for entertainment.

Huge night for Jeremy Roenick. Got both kinds of hat tricks: the traditional hat trick (plus a 4th goal) and the Gordie Howe hat trick (which was his third of the 1993-94 season; he two other Gordie Howe hat tricks the previous month, one on Long Island and then a second in Detroit).

Incredible that you found this. Thank you!

Sounds like Jim Hughson on lead commentary!

This reminds me of the game in 89 or 90 where tocchet, kerr and eklund all went down for extended periods.

Essensa was a huge bust as far as his goaltending was concerned. He was a 1st round pick , but a total "stiff" for both the Jets and Red Wings and yet he stuck around in the NHL for over a decade.  So, what the hell do I know?

Go Vin!

The picture quality makes me think this footage is from the 80s maybe even 70s.

Ha! 20 dollar hats were expensive then?!?!    50 dollars is cheap now!!

The games at Chicago stadium were bloodbaths And leaving in an ambulance was not common

Nobody on the Hawks could take on Domi... he'd chew them up and spit them all out.

Too bad Probert wasn't available for this game.

This is when the NHL started its slow decline to the soft game it is now. Before the 90s, if a player kept punching like Domi did after player is already down, everyone on the ice would drop the gloves and intervene. Sometimes the benches would clear, too. Also, when a star player fought, the linesmen wouldn’t step in earlier like they did with Roenick.
