Maine. The way life should be? Well… maybe. Today we’re taking a trip through the Pine Tree State to look at the places that are struggling the most with poverty, lack of opportunity, isolation, harsh winters, declining economies and that classic northern New England “we used to manufacture things here” energy.
From isolated mill towns and gloomy paper plant economies to struggling downtowns, brain drain and some truly questionable local smells… yeah… we’ve got a lot to talk about in this one.
Along the way we also discuss:

🦞 Why so many young people leave the state
🏚️ Declining mill town economies
❄️ Seasonal depression and endless gray skies

It’d be a better video without all that.
I enjoy your videos mostly for the scenery of places I have never been. Maine has always been on my list of places to visit/vacation. Your content tells part of the story of any town, city etc. Please give us a break down on each state, your opinion on locals friendliness, kindness etc. Always enjoy your humor pop ups.
