Hidden dip is a very helpful sign, when you’re driving along a single carriageway straight road that looks clear to overtake there could be a car in the dip that you can’t see coming, it would be a head on collision if you’re overtaking thinking the road is clear until the car comes up from the dip in the road.

I regularly drive by a local authority sign reading; Ignore your satnav, you WILL get stuck.

A café local to me had a sign "children who misbehave will be given an espresso and a free kitten"

I came across a sign just as I went around a curve in Wales to face an ancient narrow bridge "Oncoming traffic will be on your lane."
Talk about unnerving 😮

"There's rubbish right under the sign" (11:40): No, that's not a dumpster, it's a phone junction cabinet

I doubt if the Tiger warning sign would have much effect. Remember in the late 60's or early 70's at the old Brighton seaworld there was a tank containing a Blue Ring Octopus. It had a sign; this creature is deadly poison,do not touch there is no known antidote. The tank also had a steel lid , padlocked. My Dad said to a staff member; "You're not taking any chances there!" and the man said "We didn't have the tank sealed and padlocked to start with, just the warning, but at least six people a day tried to touch the Octopus"!! Stupidity knows no frontiers!

My interest in the "Please don't lick the walls" sign increased when I saw how old it was. I have questions. Several of them

I’ve just seen a road sign saying ‘Cats Eyes Removed’ which would horrify anyone not British. It refers to the little reflecting studs in the middle of the road which help when driving in the dark.

Brilliant!! Especially : Do not cross this field. Unless you can do it in 9 seconds, because the bull can do it in 10. 🤣Greetings from Norway

A favourite of mine near Slaithwaite is at the start of a dead end road to a farm and reads, "Switch off satnav and engage brain."

In a bar by the sea I saw this sign:
”UNATTENDED CHILDREN WILL BE USED AS BAIT”

The the sign about not closing farm gates is a difficult one, because walkers are so conditioned into closing them that there is a tendency to close a gate that we find open, in case someone else has forgotten to close it, even if they farmer himself has left it open because he wants animals to be able to get between fields. I wish more farmers would put signs on those gates to say "please leave it open; don't assume that you are rectifying another walker's mistake in not closing it".
