Thank you for that, I feel more confident about the instructions to fit mine when it comes. I have heard you need to put grease on the one side? Is that right.
I have finally had a moment to myself this afternoon to fit my V2 kit, it has been hanging around far too long! It's a very nicely made kit!
I managed to get the kit assembled hand tight on the bike to try for size in about 10 mins, it feels very comfy! however I am a little surprised by the lateral movement between the bottom bracket and the frame along the axle; i've got about 2mm of movement. Additionally the whole assembly feels a little rattly when unloaded with loosely mounted spring etc.
I'd really appreciate any real world feedback of your experience using it so far or recommendations before I go loctiting it up! I'm imagining some Teflon / Nylon washers to pack out the kit to the frame could be helpful and perhaps some thin adhesive backed foam in the spring mounting surfaces to reduce rattling.
Thank you for this video. You caught my attention when you mentioned the bike originally had aluminum engine case covers and you had them powder coated? I have found a used Bobber in a little bit rough condition and it also is not blacked out. You just removed the covers and sent them to the powdercoater, no issue with coating getting in the threads or affecting the mating surface?
I've been trying to decide between versions #1 and #2. Great to see this install vid. How you getting on with this #2 kit? I like the look of that seat. Who makes it? Thanks.
