I am fortunate to have 2 Contax N1 cameras with the P9 battery grips. They are an absolute joy to use & have an exceptional build quality. When you hold a Contax camera in your hand, you can really appreciate the design, ergonomics, & the attention to detail that went into their products. 😊

Joe, excellent reviews. I just want  to mention one thing about the Contax RX, which I bought about a year ago and that is the ability to swap film in mid roll.  On the menu set it to 8 -1 and  the rewind the film , the leader will  not rewind into the cassette. So you can change from B&W to color or simply to change ISO. It's an excellent option.  Mike Thomas did a video on this some time ago so you can check it out.  But I find also useful when loading the film onto a reel, you never have to open up the cassette.

A fellow Contaxian from NJ? Greetings. I've owned Contax cameras since 1984. I currently own two RTSII's and a 137ma, with 7 Carl Zeiss lenses. I recommend the 28mm f2 Distagon and the 35-70mm f3.4 Vario-Sonnar.

We all know where the Fujifilm camera design coming from....Contax.

Great info! thank you so much!!!

Thoroughly enjoy my 167mt and been looking at a second Contax SLR body.  Repairs are my only concern. Thanks for sharing.

Great informative review, Joe. Really helpful. Thank you!

Thanks for making this

Really enjoyed this! Super informative

Very good review!

A digital version of the Contax RX would be heavenly....

Thank you so much for this video! Been wanting a Contax RX for a while now, but there is just so little information on a lot of the Contax SLR systems around, so this review was super helpful in my decision to finally pick one up. Thanks again man!

I love this design. I love this machines.

still an excellent video - thanks of it

Quite nice feature.

As I recall, the 100mm macro for Contax was considered one of the best lenses  ever. Producing a three dimensional quality in macro. Remind me if it was the 120. I've had three N camera bodies, and Contax 645 which, with adaptors you could  mount it's lenses on the N body. I also had the N 17-35mm lens which I converted to EF with the help of Conorus in Canada.  Man, that piece of glass was something.

I owned 139Q, 167MT and Aria bodies:
excellent workhorses.

I just purchased an rx... chosen over the aria and the s2.. thanks for ur video. I will not regret the purchase. 🤗

Thank you - really helpful and insightful. And who doesn't love the sound of a shutter? Thanks for putting the mic on for those.

Good review bro
