"It's documented historical fact that the Catholic Church had a female Pope"

I'd absolutely crash out if I heard that.

Me: I'm innocent
Cop: You're Guilty
Judge: I guess I have to throw this out since you can't both be right.

It's rich hearing a Protestant say that fragmentation of unity disqualifies the Catholic Church from being true

What's interesting about the counterfit bill analogy is it also points to the fact that there is something of value out there to be emulated.

To quote Jonathan Pageau: "I believe in all the gods, I don't know what you are talking about"

To be clear: Jonathan Pageau is not polytheistic, but acknowledges that the pagan gods are most likely real principalities who rebelled against God. This is how the Bible portrays them as well.

There are 8 billion people and you don't believe that 7,999,999,999 are Joe Heshmeyer; I just believe in one less Joe Heshmeyer than you do

"Aha see you're just as single as me! You only have one more wife than me!"

Two Spidermen point at each other and claim the other is fake; that must mean neither is the real one.

I honestly can't listen to Ryan.

Being a listener of his for a while, tuning in every single night for his nearly 2 or 3 hour streams, watching all of his videos, but now seeing him for the wolf he is, hearing that voice say the things he says just hurts

Seamus Potpourri back at it again

I saw one comment claiming that Joe attacked a straw man. Nonsense. A strawman is when you attribute an argument to an opponent that the opponent himself would not make or accept, or would himself admit was one of his weakest arguments. Joe didn’t do that. He shows the receipts of people earnestly making exactly that argument, and believing it strong. And they ain't subtle. They really think they've got a slam dunk.

i love how youtube put this on top of my recommendations as soon as i logged in, and it's uploaded 7 mins ago

I like the way you're subtly answering each of Ryan's claims in each video you did since that his "Ten reasons not to Convert to the Catholic church" video came out. 😂

5:53 I heard about Pope. Joan from a freaking history professor in college. There are a lot of people who believe this because they want to believe it. Not because it's true.

"There are some books of the Bible you accept, and others you reject - it's just arbitrary and you should throw the whole thing out."

Joe, your videos are the reason I've signed up for OCIA, I can't wait to attend my first class with my girlfriend (who has also been watching your videos), so we can get one step closer to home in Jesus' one true church.

It’s also interesting that people will point out the confusion in church history or the times when different groups were trying to make a grab for power missing the fact that the church knew where the center line was. It didn’t continue and go off track because it knew where it needed to be and what truth looked like.

I've always found that the best response to these types of arguments is "okay?" With a puzzled look in your face. Make them attempt to explain what they mean and they usually realize their argument is horribly bad.

After 30years as a Protestant and 10 years as an apologist evangelising atheists and cult members, I converted to Catholicism. One of the major causes was the fact that I kept seeing that arguments that Protestants would use against Catholicism that were identical to the arguments that they themselves deemed silly and in bad faith from atheists and cult members...
