Probably THE best real estate video about general Central Florida considerations I have seen anywhere.

I’m glad i found this channel. I’m looking at transferring from east Arkansas to the federal prison complex in Coleman Florida in the next 12 months so my wife and i are trying to figure out how to find the right area for us and our two young kids. So this channel might be able to give us better insight

You are absolutely correct when you say where you initially fall in love with may not be where you end up when relocating to Orlando area. When we were looking back in 2014 when we relocated here for my job, we found a house in the Waterford area off of Alafaya. We thought that area would be perfect for us. After we got down here and worked with our assigned realtor, she showed us some properties in Live Oak in Oviedo. Absolutely fell in love with the neighborhood , area, and school system. Much more of our liking overall and have been happy ever since.

We settled in far westen Seminole county, near Wekiva Springs state park. That was 38 year ago. We are still in the same home we purchased. We love it here. This is our forever home.
How did we get here?
It all started with a couple of trips to Disney, and the Atlantic beaches.
It took around 6 years of narrowing our search. Little by little, excluding so many areas, that just didn't feel quite right.
Ecah trip we made from New England did include a day at a theme park, and a day at the beach.
Every other day was living the "resident" life, and narrowing our search.
A realtor, just like you are doing, steered us in the right direction. She just confirmed what we had already figured out without us realizing it at the time. Seminole county was the place to be.
Little did we know, we had already spent a lot of time in the general area we were going to choose.
I have pictures of houses we liked, in neighborhoods we liked. One picture, from 2 years before we finally moved, is about 500 feet from our house, on the same street.
The best advice I can give, is to find a good realtor, do your research and rent a house in the area, before you buy.

I’ve learned a lot over the past 6 years. I moved to northwest Las Vegas after a lot of exploring. The area has changed (not for the better) over the past 6 years, especially with the California migration bringing in tons of crime, trash, graffiti and centralized selfish attitudes; especially when it comes to reckless dangerous driving for no reason. I’m looking also for Central Florida. But what I’ve learned mostly is that you can do all the exploring and research in the world. You can find your perfect “forever home.” But if your environment changes around you, pack up and move to a place that more fits your quiet, laid-back lifestyle.

We are considering moving to the Orlando area, after looking online for 4 weeks (Realtor, Zillow) I've only found One home that I like. I will sub your channel and hopefully gain some insight about different areas around Orlando (because I'm about to give up - price range up to $500K)

One thing we discovered the local trades people think us Yankees are all,old rich people . Attempted to add an RV outlet to our home.Called electrician from larger company. He looked he looked at our home wiring. Sid this is wrong that’s is wrong it not wired correctly. I’ll fix it nd everything else ONLY $ 5000.00 Not knowing I was not always. Cop. I had nd experience with electricity. I showed him the door and put outlet in myself for $ 100.00 in parts

Florida property taxes are insanely expensive. I thought when moving here from Chicago I'd save money, they are more here than an Illinois for a smaller property. My taxes are 2% of what I paid for the house.

The time to move to Orlando is over for many years now..unless you are very wealthy...

Don't move to central Florida. Traffic is bad, the tourists are obnoxious, and it's not scenic whatsoever. Why would you move to a landlocked city in a state that's surrounded by water?

And then there are the sink holes - 😬

Poor or even some middle class people can't afford to move here in this day and age.I moved here over 30 years ago, when Brand new small 3/2/2 homes were selling for $40.000 in The UCF/Lake Underhill area.I built my 3,200 sq ft home 4/3/3 for $200,000,it's now triple in price..gas was 87 cents a gallon and everything were so reasonable, including 10 cent tolls...traffic did not exist even on I-4 and I-Drive..Clairmont was all hills and lush trees...it's a nightmare now..We seniors have to stay put, where can we move and find a home like what we are living in now for $200,000?
