Matt Fraction's Batman: Daylight has been out for a little while now, but with Volume 2 coming soon, I thought it was the perfect time to finally sit down and talk about the first volume.

I'm a little late to the run, but this review is aimed at anyone who's thinking about picking up Matt Fraction's Batman, or anyone who's only just started reading it and wants to hear another perspective.

So what actually makes this Batman different?

Fraction's Batman feels much more like a traditional superhero. He's a beacon of hope for Gotham, the public actually loves him, and the book isn't afraid to embrace the ridiculous technology, colourful world and larger-than-life nature of Batman.

I'll also be talking about the Bat-family, including Tim Drake's struggle with balancing being Robin and having a life outside of being a vigilante, and why Damian Wayne might genuinely be my favourite version of the character.

And then there's the villains, from Killer Croc and Anarky to Vandal Savage, Hugo Strange, Ōjō and the mysterious criminal network known as the Torus.

So, is Batman: Daylight worth picking up?

Let's talk about it.
