Back when eastenders was GOATED

almost 20 years to the day this was broadcast! Feels like yesterday. How time flies!

I remember when this aired best episode at the time and nothing like it since

After this, Phil became more chilled for the rest of 2006 but started to revert again in early 2007.

Funny how at the time this story was slated in the press - I remember critics mocked how “touchy feely” Phil & Grant had become with each other, and the cartoonish gangster storylines were also very divisive. Great entertainment in retrospect though!

Basically the end of EastEnders being great

When it was worth paying the TV Licence

Thank you EVER so much for this amazing quality and what a incredible week, January 2006. Take me back

Remember this week like it was yesterday. Last time we had Mitchell brothers in full flow. Remember at the time the show was getting slated but compared to last 10 years or so it was the golden age 😅

2006 marked the end of the gangster era and the best era of EE. Den Watts, Dennis Rickman, The Firm, Steve Owen, The Mitchell’s

Classic episode that week was great Grant and Phil went to work Johnny was a OG

It's becoming a looking forward to a Saturday with your classic uploads of gangsters stories in EastEnders back in 2004-2006 was really good and remember Phil nightmare and the countdown with Johnny laughing it was scary but well done it felt like sleep paralysis 😂.
Wtf happened to EastEnders now 😮

Thank you VERY MUCH for the upload!!

Having never seen this when it aired, this sort of stuff proves we need something like The Professionals back on telly

Thanks for uploading

Wish johnny had a younger brother who comes in now massive story again like this

Here we go.

The final showdown as the Mitchell Brothers go up against Johnny Allen.

And while it could've been played with more development, it was still a great storyline and conclusion to the gangster saga plus the Mitchells-versus-Watts family rivalry epilogue scenario.

7:19 - “I made the call, ‘cause I did.” Two seconds later: “Big deal, so what?”

"You're so good at playing the emotional card! Is that how you sold beating up Johnny to Dennis!?" - Grant nailed it right there. Never liked Phil again after he got Dennis killed.

I’ve had dreams like that
